2 Timothy 2:3-10
Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ. Therefore,
I endure all things for the elects' sakes that they may also obtain the
salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Today's message is another in a series of encouraging topics to aid in
our renewed commitment to Christ designed to raise our faith and our witnessing
ministry to a new level on this Christian journey.
That said, there will be many times when we as Christians may suffer for the
sake of the gospel of Christ, but remember how our Savior suffered, bled and
died providing salvation to all who believe. Therefore, our suffering for His
sake is not in vain.
The Apostle Paul suffered many hardships and pain, but he never waivered
in his commitment to Christ and His message so that others would see and come
to Christ. Believer's mission today remains the same-proclaiming the gospel
regardless of circumstances. The early disciples and apostles as well as the
early church suffered persecution for preaching Christ, but the church grew as
it will today when Christ and His message is preached.
Christ is our perfect example of an enduring spirit because He endured
the harshness of the cross and being separated from His heavenly Father as He was
the chosen propitiator to take away the sins of the world.
Christ endured it all; therefore, you and I can endure by having an
enduring spirit to show our faithfulness to the Lord.
