Attitudes Determines Our Altitude: Luke 17:15-16

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,  And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

While pondering what to write this morning, I was led to revisit one of our Sunday school lessons that talked about An Attitude of Gratitude. Today’s passage of scripture focuses on the ten lepers that Jesus healed, but only one returned to tell Jesus, thank You for healing my body.

The one returning Leper expressed his gratitude for Jesus having mercy upon him and his companions as they stood afar off, crying out to Jesus for healing. When Jesus answered their plea for help, the nine when on their merry way as if it was Jesus’ duty to come to their rescue. Is this our attitude of the nine who did not say Thank You Jesus for love, grace, and mercy? Are we taking Jesus’ compassionate care for granted, or are we expressing an attitude of gratitude that will determine our altitude in life?

A simple thank you will take us far in this life as it tells God I think You for waking me this morning. You didn’t have to, but You did. Thank You for all that You do in my life, especially providing salvation through my faith in Your Son Jesus Christ. Our attitude of thankfulness makes a significant impact in the eyes of God and the world because it manifests the likeness of Christ, our Lord, and Savior.

Therefore, let our positive attitudes cause us to soar like an eagle.

God Our True Protector: Psalm 91:1-4(KJV)

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.Surely, he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

In the midst of the daily chaos and confusion that we are facing, I was led by God the Holy Spirit to remind everyone that He is our true protector. We must hide ourselves in the secret place (His dwelling place) of His sanctuary and shall be safe because He is our refuge, our strength, and is our hedge of protection.

Whatever obstacles and pestilence (plagues and pandemics) will not come near us because God is true to His word when He says, ‘I will cover you with my protective armor (feathers of my wings), and through the truth of my word I will be your shield and buckler." What we must do is trust God with total confidence as we plead the blood of Jesus over our lives and families. Remember what Jesus’ blood has done for all believers and will do the same for those who have not trusted Him (Jesus) as their personal Savior when they accept Him as Savior.

Let me close by saying if you have doubts about anything, trust in God by taking all of our cares and concerns to Him in prayer and leave them with Him. He is in total control and will protect His own. Just as He promised never to leave nor forsake His own; He is true to His word.

There is no better protector than God Himself; therefore, abide in Him in His sanctuary of peace and rest.
