Sin and its Depravity Genesis: 18:16-19:29; 19:1, 15-26, 29

As I was pondering what to write while preparing to teach or Sunday school lesson, "Faith and Doubt" taken from the above chapters of Genesis. Over the past several discussions, I have been talking about the need for a healing of this nation. Sin is the cause that requires this nation to be healed. The Lord placed on my heart to write about sin and its grievousness comparing the sinful conditions during this time in Biblical history to the corrupt conditions today.
Sin was rampant then as it is today. The men during the setting of today's scripture texts preferred other men for their sexual preferences instead of a woman. God sent angels to rescue Lot, his wife and family, and the men of the city tried to break into Lot's house to have sex with the angels. The angels blinded the men so they could not see the door of Lot's house until Lot and his family could escape.
Today homosexuality is prevalent and is moving into high places. Do I hate them no, just speaking to the nature of sin? There was a time when girls had to be protected from rapists, but today it appears as young boys are the preferred target. Rape is a sin regardless of the victim
We see hate and violent crimes of all kinds are on the rise as hate, and violence being promoted from the Whitehouse; this is not who we are as Americans. This question come to mind, has America lost its moral compass? One would think so when we look at the grievous conditions of sin that is occurring in our country today. One has to wonder how we got to this point. Church, we have been silent too long and not calling sin whenever and wherever it occurs. For example, we the church allowed one person to remove prayer from our schools, and when that happened the door for Satan to walk; walk-in he did. Mass shootings are regularly occurring, and schools are no longer safe for our children. Families are being torn apart; even babies are being separated from their mothers; young children are sex trafficked and sexually abused. What happened to the Golden Rule, treat others as you would have them treat you not to mention the commandment of loving others as thyself? Corruption from the very people we elect to serve and protect us with our well-being at heart. Greed is to the point that business owners make billions in profit while the workers are barely earning enough to provide and support his/her family. America, we are better than this? Just as God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of its sinful ways, He will do the same for America.
America, turn back to God and be saved from His wrath. He is displaying His anger through nature.

Friends: John 15:13; Proverbs 17:17 KJV

Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends. A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Pondering what to write for my daily message today, I was lead to talk about friends and ask
these questions, how can I find a true friend, how will I know if the person is a true friend nor not? The above scripture provides the answer to the first question, which states a friend is one that loves all of the time, not just when things are going well with you. It is a faithful saying that a true friend is closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:28), and includes sisters as well. A true friend is someone who will tell you the truth, regardless of how it may hurt. A true friend will walk beside you every step of the way. When the going gets tough, a real friend is there to comfort and encourage you. A true friend keeps his/her promises and will help you to keep your promises.
The epitome of a true friend is found in our scripture text when Jesus states that a true friend that will lay down his life for his friends. Jesus Christ is the one person who sacrificed His life for us. Jesus Christ is the one true friend who keeps all our secrets; He is the one who we can call anytime, anywhere for any reason and be sure to get an answer. We are not called to give our lives be there when needed.
Be a friend; gain a friend.

Always Give Thanks: 1 Thessalonians 5:18KJV

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Allow me to give words of encouragement because we are living in some dark, troubling days in our country; be mindful of the words spoken in the Psalm; crying endures for a night; joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5 KJV).
If the question was raised, why should I be joyful when there is so much trouble in my life and the world? We rejoice because God, through His internal alarm clock, woke us up this morning and each morning that we are alive; that is praiseworthy. Each day is a new day to tell God thank You even during pain and suffering, tears, and stressful situations; we must say God thank You.
We rejoice because we have a God who cares deeply for each of us and asks that we cast all of our cares upon Him and He will take care of them (1 Peter 5:7 KJV). The God we serve keeps His promises; this is no different.
We rejoice because we have a God who is in the storm with us; reflect on Psalm 23:4 that states, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. If the above verses don't give us the comforts to thank God then read Psalm 27:1-4KJV, and then ask why am I fearful and or ungrateful? God is worthy of all praises, glory, and honor. We honor God with our thankfulness.
We thank God for His love, grace, and mercy; thank God.

Cry Deliverance: Isaiah 58:1

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

Today's message is a continuation of my passionate plea for a healing of this nation. Just as
our scripture verse states, we must cry out to God in a loud voice calling out sin and all wickedness so that the people will see and know their transgressions. Regardless of the sin, it must be called out for what it is. God punishes sin, and all will be judged for his/her sins because He is the righteous judge.
Prayer changes things, and our faith unlocks the door so that God's wonder-working power is released in answer to our prayers. James 5:16b states emphatically that the prayers of the righteous availeth much. What this means is that we, as believers, pray and having faith in our prayer, then God moves. The situation in American is no different than it was in the Bible days and during the time of the writing of our scripture text.
Just as Isaiah was commanded to deliver warning to the people of his day, believers today are commanded to call out sin, and we must do so with urgency.

A Clarion Call for Prayer

America, join me in a 30-day prayer vigil for a healing of this nation. 2 Chronicle 7:14 (healing prayer) Psalm 91:1-5 prayer of protection. Prayer is our weapon against Satan (Trump) and our faith will unlock God's power that will remove Trump and his corrupt, evil and demonic cronies out of office. Far too many of our babies and innocent people of dying for no reason other than hate. Love trumps hate and was demonstrated on the cross at Calvary.
