A Cry For Help: Psalm 102:1-2

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

In light of our current presidential situation many are crying out for help. This reminds me of when the nation of Israel did evil in sight of the Lord and was under oppression of an evil king they cried out to the Lord.
The Lord God heard their cry and had compassion on them; He will do the same thing for us today and restore our Democracy, but this nation must turn back to God to continue receiving His blessings. God is a jealous God and will not allow this nation and any other nation to put other gods before Him.
The history of Israel in recorded in the Bible to teach us who God is; His love grace and mercy as well as Him punishing sin. God is a just God who is longsuffering, but He will execute His judgment upon evil.
God knew before the beginning of time these days would come and His people would cry out to Him. Nothing takes God by surprise. That said, God know exactly when our dictatorship type days will end and the truth will be the truth. When we here in America and elsewhere will once again readily take the truth over a lie, because the truth is what will stand.
In my spirit, God has already heard our cry and His corrective action is in progress. Continue putting feet to our prayers. God is a good God. He is truth and righteous.

God's Truth Our Shield And Buckler: Isaiah 54:17

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

Today's topical discussion is a continuation from yesterday's which informed us that Christ is the Calm in the Midst of Chaos. Our focus for reminding all that only God's truth is what will stand the test of time as it is our shield and buckler.
I write this message in light of the current happenings in our society today and the many attempts to harm million of people for no apparent reason other than hate and evil.  Each time the weapons of evil form against us, God our mighty warrior step in and bring victory to His people. He stopped the repeal of our healthcare that is providing much needed healthcare for millions and not the unfair tax bill. I have faith in God He will bring it to naught as well.
God's condemnation is being executed upon the evil doers with the worse is yet to come. Stand firm on the truth because it is our shield and buckler as He hides us under His mighty wings (Psalm 91:4).
Tell the truth; stand firm on the truth; be right; do right and victory is assured.

Christ The Calm In The Midst Of Chaos: Psalm 27:1-3

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

In the midst of the constant chaotic news that is bombarding our lives I was led by the Holy Spirit to remind everyone that Jesus Christ is the calm in the midst of chaos. Stated in our lesson text the Lord is our salvation, our light and there is nothing to fear. Regardless of the evil and wickedness that is brought our way we are to take courage because the Lord of our lives is in full control and nothing takes the Him by surprise.
It is noteworthy to say that the Lord warned us in Isaiah 54:17 that yes weapons will form against us but they will not prosper. This is because the Lord is with His people and is the warrior who fights our battles.
In closing, we are being tested; remember Job and how he was tested, but never lost faith in God. The end results was Job was restored with more than he had before his testing. We are to keep the faith and fear not.

Effective Praying: James 5:16

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much is a much quoted phrase, but this question comes to mind, what cause the righteous man prayers to yield what is prayed for?  The answer can be found in the first part of the scripture verse which states that the prayer must confess his/her own faults as well as pray from the heart with sincerity believing that God will answer.
There are other reasons for effective praying and some are: (a) praying in the authority of Jesus name. (b) Our prayers must align with the will of God as the prayer must be living in harmony with God. (c) The prayer prays constantly as praying is a method of communicating with God and the more the prayer communicates with God a harmonious relationship develops. (d) The prayer pray in honesty and in faith; believing in what is being prayed for whether it is an intercessory prayer, thanking God or petitioning God whether for self or someone else. (e) The prayer is persistence in his/her prayers. This incorporates Matthew 7:7-8, which is asking, seeking and knocking. In doing those three things will be rewarding. Lastly, we as prayer warriors are encouraged to adore God, thanks Him for His goodness, grace and mercy.
God loves to hear and talk with us; just as He answered prayers of those in the Bible days and beyond He will do the same for us today.
Pray. Pray. Pray God hears and answers.

Faith: Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

As I pondered what to write for today's message and this being the beginning of a New Year with high expectations and set goals that we wish to achieve this year. The Holy Spirit led me to write about faith as our faith will be tested on many fronts such as: political, everyday beliefs in ourselves to accomplish set goals and our Christian faith will be thoroughly tested.
These questions come to mind, in the midst of the trials that will come upon us how will we respond? Will it be one of bold faith that will enable us to stand in the face of stiff opposition? Will it be an unwavering faith that will cause us to persevere until we see the desired result?
Reflecting on this Sunday's and next Sunday's lesson studies that look at faith from different perspectives taken from the book of Daniel where his faith was tested and he was rewarded for his faith. In our society today, our resolve is being thoroughly tested on a political, moral and Christian front. Our response and measure of endurance will speak to our character, moral values and determination to be an agent of change. In the Christian community we are to boldly witness Christ; in the political arena be an agent of change, and on the moral/character fronts stand for what is right.
Allow me to encourage all that whatever front our faith is being tested we must approach it with boldness and with an unwavering commitment to be apart of the change.
All of us have a role to play in our society; therefore embrace it with boldness.
