Recognizing God for Who He is: Psalm 22:19KJV

But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

Today’s message is a continuation of yesterday’s message of God Hears because He does and is faithful to answer our prayers.

The Psalmist recognizes God and His sovereign powers and pleads to God to remain near him because the Lord is his strength and very present help in times of trouble.

Let us call out to God because He is our stronghold, our deliverer, and the God of our salvation. God loves us unconditionally and is faithful to His promise of never to leave nor forsake His children. God is a trustworthy God who is reliable and merciful.

While all is well with us, let us thank and praise Him for his goodness. When troubles arise, yes, call out to Him.

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

God Hears: Jonah 2:2 KJV

And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

This verse describes Jonah being in the belly of the big fish and crying out to God and God hearing his cry for help. What does this say for all humanity when we cry out to God? It assures us that no matter where we are and cry out to God, He hears and will answer our cries.

David said in Psalm 139:8 states, If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. This verse verifies that there is no escaping God, for He is everywhere.

Cry out to God with assurances that He hears and will answer our prayers just as He did Jonah. We are never out of the reach of God’s outstretched arms and listening ears.

Love: John13:34 KJV

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

February is considered the love month, searching for a scripture that talks about love; our above scripture verse fits as Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, issued us a love commandment.

Jesus' commandment for us to love one another as He has loved us is a directive for us to live in harmony with one another. Jesus Christ demonstrated His love for us on the cross at Calvary; He laid down His life so that all who believe in Him will have everlasting life. What love?

The love command that Christ gave is not a suggestion but a command. In obedience to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are to emulate Him in all that we do, and loving one another provides evidence of our obedience to Him.

John 3:16 gives us a clear view into the heart of God the Father and His love for humanity; therefore, when we examine the true meaning of GRACE, we will find the heart of God as being true love. GRACE is God’s Righteousness AChrist’s Expense.

Let us love one another as love is the greatest commodity we can give. Give love as we are love.
