1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called
you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Today's focus
discussion is believers as God's holy nation of people. Our scripture text
clearly states that all believers are the chosen generation of God, which means
that God choose us instead believers choosing God as Lord.
Being members
of God chosen nation, we are royal priests, because God is holy and of royalty.
Believers are a peculiar people in that we see things as God sees them instead
of how the world views things. This is because God's ways and the world differ.
God's moral values and standards is what the entire world will be judged, and
if God's standards aren't met then all will fall short. Are you living
according to God's standards or do the world's values influence your decisions?
Remember God is supreme.
Believers,
being that we are God's chosen is worthy of constant praises as an expression
of gratitude for God finding favor in us. This means that God looked beyond our
faults and saw our needs and selected every believer to be part of His holy
nation of people for all generations.
Thank
God for His love in choosing you and me as His children. Sing hallelujah to His
name.
