Psalm 15:1-5
Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy
hills? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the
truth in his heart.
Today's scripture texts provide insight as to who will dwell in the
presence of our Lord by asking the question who will abide in His tabernacle.
King David outlines who will dwell in the presence of the Lord (vv. 2-5) and all
who rejects God's gift of salvation will be omitted from abiding in His tabernacle.
That said, it behooves all mankind to join God's family and abide in His
tabernacle where there is joy, love, peace, grace, mercy and help in the time
of need.
There is blessed happiness from abiding in God's tabernacle because (a)
our souls have been delivered from a spiritual death to one of righteousness.
(b) All who believe is no longer alienated from God our creator and sustainer
and can now sing and shout glory hallelujah to His name. (c) Abiding in God's
tabernacle, all believers are royal priests and member of His holy nation of
peculiar people (1 Peter 2:9). Believers are no longer controlled by Satan and
his legion of angels because God's tabernacle dwellers have been separated from
this world and its corrupt systems and values while seeing and doing things
God's way and aligning our wills with His. (d) Abiding in God's tabernacle
means that all believers are in the presence of God and will spend eternity
with Him when this life is over.
When you worship do you feel the presence of the Lord in your place of
worship?
