Matthew 5:6
Blesses are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for
they shall be filled.
Pondering
what to write while I was meditating on the Word of God as well as reflecting
on the conditions of our churches where many have become nothing more than
social clubs. I say this because many who call themselves Christians are
clamoring for a position for self glorification while forsaking the question
how can I lift up the name Jesus and glorify Him in my service. In this
position, will God’s righteousness be seen through my service or will it be
smothered by my desire for life’s worldly pleasures? His righteousness is what
all men will be judged.
Let
me remind my fellow believers that our hunger and thirst for God’s
righteousness can and will be destroyed if we allow worldly deceitfulness,
wealth and the quest for power cloud our focus. When this occurs, then the
person becomes spiritually dead. It is for this reason that all believers are
encouraged to remain focus on Christ and His righteousness while adhering to
the convicting work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in every
believer to guide his/her footsteps into righteousness and truth.
Let
me encourage my fellow believers to remain connected to the true vine as He is
our power source and without this power supply we can do nothing in and of
ourselves. He is the essence of our being from the beginning to the end;
therefore, hunger and thirst after God’s righteousness instead of man’s.
God’s
righteousness is far superior to that of man’s
