Wear The Spirit Of Humility

1 Peter 5:5

...Ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility, for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Our scripture text makes several profound statements concerning Christians the world over, and they are:
a.      Younger believers are to be submissive to older Christians and person in general out of respect for our elders. The older Christian is believed to be more mature in his or her walk with Christ. Older persons are living history that they have gained on life's journey. Older persons have godly wisdom and knowledge that is beneficial to the youth and youth would be wise to seek this knowledge.
b.     All believers are encouraged to honor one another with respect, love and compassion. Because all believers are clothed with God's humility, His garment of salvation, which is the righteousness of His Son Jesus Christ.
c.      Wearing the garment of humility, believers know who we are and to whom we belong with the right view of each. In God's eye there is no respect of person as He loves us all.
d.     God give more grace to the humble person as the humble person emulates Jesus Christ who humbled Himself to leave His home in heaven to become man to become the perfect human sacrifice.
Humility is one of the believer's garments of righteousness as we live and walk in the Spirit of Christ. Be humble.

Believers The Lively Stones Of God

1 Peter 2:5

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Our study text is a continuation of verse four which states that Christ is the living stone who was disallowed by men, but chosen by God as He was precious to God the father. Therefore, believers become the lively stones of God through the chief corner stone-Jesus Christ our Savior. That said, as believers come to Christ the person becomes members of Christ's spiritual house and God's kingdom.

Believers being lively stones and of the holy priesthood we offer spiritual acceptable sacrifices unto God as they too come through Christ our Savior and head of God's spiritual house.

What are spiritual sacrifices? They are dying daily to fleshy desires while seeking to live holy and righteous lives before God the Father. Believers offer their bodies as instruments of righteousness with the transformation of one's mind by confirming to Gods holy laws (Romans 12:1-2). Believers yield control of one's body to the residing Holy Spirit who is our guide, teacher and holy compass while here on earth. Believers are to make intercessory prayer for self and others the world over (Colossians 4:12). Believers are to proclaim the word of God as well as praying for its success (v.9; 3:15 2 Thessalonians 3:11).

Believers as the lively stones of God's spiritual house bask in His glory, thank Him for salvation through Jesus Christ and being His adopted sons and daughters.

The Marvellous Works Of God

Psalm 139:14

I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

The Psalmist David is acknowledging the wonderful works of God's mighty hand in all that He does, which includes the creation of mankind.  When we take a reflective look as how the human body is structured, one can only marvel at the mighty hand of God, because only a God could created such dynamic structure as man. He has a will, emotions, the ability to love, to think and feel with a mind and a heart that controls our actions and decision-making.
Man was created as three persons in one like God.  Man has a soul, a body and a spirit. What a mighty God and His creative powers. God created man with the desire to be in a relationship with our fellowman. This is the result of God creating man to be in fellowship with Him. Sin broke that relationship, but it was restored through Christ's atoning work. God's creation of man and all that He did and does in the life of humanity was predicated on His love as He is love.
That being said, then all believers can say like the Psalmist David, I will praise thee because of how wonderfully I am made. These praises will be heard morning, noon and night, in my home and wherever I go.
God is worthy of all praises honor and glory.

A Bright And Morning Star

Revelation 22:16

I Jesus have sent mine angels to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Our lesson text is Christ's invitation to salvation as He is speaking to the churches of all generations. It is God's desire that all be saved and spend eternity with Him; however, many will reject Christ's salvation invitation be lost.
Our text begins with Christ sending His angels to the churches to testify of Him and who He is. It was prophesied that the Messiah would come through the lineage of David and this prophecy was fulfilled at Christ's birth. Christ was God in the flesh that came to redeem man from his sins through His shed blood on Calvary's cross.
Christ further instructs the angels to identify Him as the bright and morning star because He is God in the second person who shines the brightness of the Father. His star cannot be dimmed nor does He need help from the sun to show forth His glory.
In verse 13, Christ identifies Himself as Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end; therefore there is no other way to God the Father, but by Christ our Lord and Savior.
Churches collectively and believers individually, let us continue inviting the lost to Christ by testifying of His goodness until He returns to establish His earthly kingdom.
God's glory shines bright as the morning star.

A Tested Faith

Hebrews 11:7

By faith, Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the, which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Let us begin today's topic discussion with these questions, Have your faith been tested to the point that you have called on God and it appears as if no answer is forth comings by His delay? Have you ever been in a trying situation to the point you feel you are all alone and no way out? Have you asked God "Why have You forsaken me?" (Matthew 15:34). Even in the midst of the trying situation, you ask that God's will to be done? (Matthew 6:10).
Whatever your answer is, remember, God never fails and He is an on time God. God answers prayers by saying yes, no and not yet. God's time is not our time. His time is the right time and He knows the end from the beginning. He knows what is best for His people and answers accordingly.
God will never leave nor forsake His own and regardless of the situation God is there walking beside you and in many cases carrying us through the trial. It is also noteworthy to say, a tested faith is a faith that testifies of God's goodness.
In every trying situation trust God.

Walk In The Light Of Christ

1 John 1:7

..If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

What our scripture text is saying to all believers then and now is that if we believe in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, then we manifest the light and love of Christ for the world to see. This is because all believers have committed themselves to obeying God's holy ordinances as outlined in scriptures and to walk humbly before God and we remain in union with Christ our Savior.
Additionally, walking in the light of Christ, we as believers realize that it is through God's loving grace that sustains us as He provides for our every need. It is through God's grace that we have our being from the beginning to the end. It is through God's love, grace and mercy that willingly He gave His Son and the Son gave His life to pay man's sin-debt. What love!
It is the indwelling of God's Spirit believers can live and walk in the light of Christ so that we have fellowship with God (v. 6) and one another. Walking in the light of Christ, believers are following Christ's example of obeying God's holy laws and doing His will.
Does the world see the light of Christ shinning in your lifestyle?

God's Requirements

Micah 6:8

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good, and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

God outlines the three things that are required from His people in our walk with Him, and they are:

Do justly which is to be fair and honest with our fellowman in whatever dealings we may have with the person. This brings into focus the Golden Rule of treating others as you would have them treat you.

God's second requirement as outlined in this scripture is to love mercy as His love, grace and mercy is at the root of Him saving man from eternal damnation. Justice was demanded, but mercy took its place by Jesus Christ our Savior's atonement of man's sins through His shed blood on Calvary's cross. As an expression of gratitude we are encouraged to offer praises unto God continually.

Lastly, our scripture text says that we are to walk humbly unto God. This is accomplished by living in obedience to God's laws and commandments. We are to remain in union with our Savior Jesus Christ while yielding control to His Spirit the Holy Spirit.

Doing the things as outlined in our lesson text we let the world know who we are and to whom we belong. This brings into focus of walking worthy of our being the "Called" of God we have been set aside as members of God holy nation of people (1 Peter 2:9).

Christ Jesus is our perfect example to living as God requires.

A Daily Walk With God Through Prayer

Nehemiah 1:1-12

And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven. And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love Him and observe His commandments.

In light of the sinful conditions this world is in I felt the need to remind all that we stand tallest on our knees. This is our daily walk with God through prayer as He hears and answer. We know that When God's people pray and or come together in prayer God hears and answer. That being said, we need a spiritual revival because of the sinful conditions facing our world. We are witnessing all manner of wickedness worldwide. The church is being persecuted in foreign countries to the point that many are being murdered for worshiping Christ and many are being imprisoned for the same reason. In this country, it appears as if God's people are being overtaken by sin and there seems to be no stopping it, but be encouraged sin and Satan is a defeated foe.
These conditions bring into focus 2 Chronicles 7:14, which states, if  my people, which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
All this week there has been a national call for prayer and as we come together in prayer as well as praying individually God hears and answers. Prayer has been and continues to be an integral part of believers the world over life's. Prayers of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16).
Keep praying, keep believing, because God is moving and it is being witnessed through nature. A healing is on the way.
