Blessings: Deuteronomy 28:8

The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Earlier in the week, I was in a conversation with fellow believers, and the senior person in the group brought this phrase to mind when she stated, "He keeps on blessing me." I had to reflect on God's blessings that He bestows upon each of us daily. Even amid sickness, anxiety, worry, and even depression, be encouraged, it is a blessing to be alive because it is another day to tell God thank You for wakening me this morning. I know You can take away the pain, and whatever else that I am going through Your blessings outnumber the troubles of life.
My prayer list is getting longer and longer as there is a great need for prayer; in our prayers, let us thank God for His blessings as we say these words. "He keeps on blessing me."
God commands His blessings upon us.

Righteous verses Unrighteous: Psalm 1:1-6

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
This number of Psalm takes a distinctive look at the two kinds of people in the world, providing the character traits by each type.
The righteous delight themselves in the laws, ways, and character traits of God as He is our heavenly Father. God, the Father is love, compassionate, longsuffering, He is kind and merciful, God is truth, and faithful to His word; therefore, the righteous emulate these attributes daily in our lives. Whereas, the unrighteous bring forth hate, envy, deceit, bigotry, and all manner of evil upon our fellowman for no apparent reason. These are the attributes of the prince of darkness.
Let me encourage the righteous do not be discouraged by the seeming prosperity of the unrighteous because they will be soon cut down like the chaff that will be blown away. We will look for the unrighteous, and they will be no more (v.4), while the righteous will flourish like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water (v.3). The river of water is the Holy Spirit that showers all believers with His grace daily.
The righteous enjoy bountiful blessings while blessings of the unrighteous are short-lived.

Morning Prayer: Psalm 5:1-2

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

Good morning God. Thank You for wakening me this morning to another day of Your blessings of love, grace, and mercy. Thank You, Lord, for keeping me safe as I slept throughout the night, dispatching Your angels to watch over me. As I rose early this morning,  there was no doubt in my mind that it was You that clothed me with a spirit of thanksgiving. Lord, I thank You for being the God of my salvation, my refuge, and being my God. In Jesus' name, I pray Amen.

The Healing Power of Faith: James 5:13-18

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Our scripture verses discuss prayer and the results of prayers. What this proves is there is power in prayer and faith that goes with prayer. Verse 13 instructs us to pray if there are any among us that is ill and if everything is okay, then sing songs of praise. There is healing power in prayer, and we must have enough faith to believe in our prayers.
There are many instances in the Bible where prayers were made, and faith opened the door to answered prayers. Mustard seed size faith will move mountains (Matthew 17:20 KJV). Jesus instructed His disciples to have this kind of faith, and they could do the impossible. We will have mountains in our lives; we must exercise mustard seed size faith, and then watch God work.
Verse 15 reminds us there is power in praying the prayer of faith; it will heal the sick as well as bringing into realization the desired result of our prayer. Faith in Jesus Christ is essential to our salvation.
Pray whether we are petitioning God for self or someone else or thanking Him; pray, and have faith.

God's Protective Care: Psalm 91:1-16

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.
If it appears as though I am writing from the same passage of scriptures is because I desire to provide words of encouragement during these troubling times. Regardless of the number of times scriptures (this and other scriptures) are read, some encouragements will lift our souls and spirit for whatever the situation one may be facing. He is a burden barrow.
Be encouraged in all situations; God is our true protector; as verse one says, continuing abiding the secret place of His tabernacle and under His shadow where we will find refuge, a fortress, and God Almighty Himself. There is no better place to be than under God's protective wings; His truth is our shield and buckler that will hide us from the terror and destructive forces of evil that seek to destroy us (vv 4, 6). Keep our hand in the hands of the Master, and trust Him daily.
Lastly, be encouraged, God has us; He sees us with His all-seeing eye and is holding us with His unseen hands.

Encouragement: Psalm 37:4, II Timothy 1:7

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Today's message is designed to provide words of encouragement because as we travel through life's ups and downs, we sometimes get weary and need a warm smile or a handshake or even just a kind word or two.
That said we witness adversity daily and often wonder why or what is going on; well, we live in a fallen world where Satan is busy seeing who he can destroy. Be encouraged because the Lord God did not give us a spirit of fear, but the power of love and a sound mind. A sound mind is one that knows right from wrong good from evil. Exercising a sound mind that is focused on Jesus, Satan, and his evil schemes will not harm us. See, Satan wants us to be burden down with fear and weary, but take heed to our scripture text when it asks us to delight ourselves in the Lord, and He will give us the desires of our hearts. We desire peace, love, and harmony. God's peace surpasses the world's understanding and peace.
Remember the words recorded in Isaiah 54:17a which states, No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
Be encouraged; God has us in His hands.

There is Healing in Forgiveness: Ephesians 4:32

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

The Holy Spirit directed me to write on this subject again, as I had done in 2005, The Healing of Forgiveness to remind all there is healing in forgiveness. The Holy Spirit knew that someone needed to be reminded that we are to forgive as God the Father has forgiven us all through Jesus Christ, who died on the cross at Calvary for our sins; for we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
The act of forgiveness on display in the Texas courtroom showed the grace and mercy of God working through this young man to forgive the wrongdoer. There have been other widely known acts of forgiveness over the years. I am sure other acts of mercy occur daily in this country and around the world because the forgiving person finds healing within. Forgiving our wrongdoer, we begin to heal as it is a weight lifted off of the forgiver. The other side of this proverbial coin is that the wrongdoer is relieved knowing that the victim and or the family have forgiven him or her.
2 Chronicles 7:14 talks about healing, forgiveness, prayer, and turning from our wicked ways, then we will see a nation that is living according to God's way.
There is healing in forgiveness; therefore, let us love one another, forgive as we have been forgiven.
