Matthew 20:1; Acts 1:8
For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder,
which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard;
I write this morning's message is with a heavy heart because of the grim
news I receive from around the world of how our Christian brothers and sisters
are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. Many are loosing their
lives for believing in Christ and they have decided that to die in Christ is
their gain. Christianity is under attack in this country in many ways, for
example, the Ten Commandments being removed from public places such as some of
our court houses and they are the basic from which our laws are founded upon.
Repercussions are being suffered when one stand on his or her Christian faith
in this country when man's law opposes God's law. Reflect with me when the
faith community stood by and allowed one woman to take prayer out of our
schools. This same trend is being followed in many of the immoral acts that are
being enacted upon us. The question becomes, what must Christians do? For me it
is to stand firm on my faith and denounce sin in whatever form it appears. God
has equipped us for this warfare that we are in because He knew that we would encounter
all manner of immorality (Ephesians 6:10-18). God has given us power to boldly
witness Christ (Acts 1:8) and stand firm on His Word His promises to be with us
and He will fight our battles. He is the supreme ruler and everyone will have
to give in account for his or her actions.
If the question was raised, how are we working for Christ and how can we
stand firm for Him? We are working for Christ each time we witness Christ, make
intercessory prayer, and give a helping hand when and wherever needed. We stand
firm on our faith in spite of difficult situations and or circumstances. The
God in us is much bigger than the god of this world.
Let me close by encouraging all to continue working in Christ's vineyard
as many are working and many more are needed, because in God's own time He is
going to restore and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14) and from the many cataclysmic
events occurring that will not be long.
