Philippians 1:20
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I
shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ
shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
The Apostle Paul is making a profound statement as it relates to
magnifying the Lord in death or life. Christ is worthy of all glory, honor and
worship. We as believers are to magnify the Lord in our walk and speech. This
let the world know that yes I am a child of God and I live for Him daily.
If the question was raise, how do we magnify the Lord in our lifestyle?
This is accomplished by holy living, being the salt of the earth through our
witnessing Christ the world over. We magnify the Lord by mentoring younger Christians
in the ways of the Lord. This is achieved by having a seasoned speech, having
and sharing unconditional love with and for the mentee.
Our lifestyles speaks volume as to who we are and to whom we belong as
our lives may be the only Bible others are reading; therefore, manifesting
Christ in our lives speak volume.
How do we magnify the Lord in death? Paul said it best in verse 21,
because if this earthly life has been one that manifested Christ and when it is
over then the person is present with the Lord. This means that you have made
your election sure by standing firm on your faith in Jesus Christ.
Magnifying the Lord daily shows Christian growth.
