A Spiritual Vacation

Hebrews 4:9-10

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.  For he that is entered into His rest, he also, hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.

One may say what a strange subject for a discussion topic, well think in terms of earthly vacations where the vacationer takes time out from his or her busy lives to rest and relax. God rested from His creative works and encourages us do likewise.
God dedicated the Sabbath to rest and worshiping Him. He encourages us to rest in Him and this rest is encouraged daily and in doing so we find peace and relaxation from the daily stresses of life.
How do we take a spiritual vacation? This is achieved through momentary prayer shutting out the world and its activities, then focus on God and His goodness. Thank God for His blessings that He showers us with every moment of our lives each day. Cast all our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7) and leave them there and as promised He will take care of them. We can also take a spiritual vacation by meditating on God's creative works of nature and self. Lastly, we can take a spiritual vacation by pausing life's activities and allowing our minds to run free and our spirit connect with God's Spirit there we will find peace, rest and relaxation.
A spiritual vacation is the calming and smoothing effect of the Lord in the Lord.
