Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world; be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God.
As we begin the New Year I have heard a common theme from ministers
and laity that God is going to do great things for the world to see that yes
there is a God, He is supreme above all and His holy laws will last forever. One
can concluded that God is speaking to the minds of His children informing them
to remain steadfast in his or her faith in spite of the turmoils and all manner
of evil that exist in our society today. Satan knows his days are numbered here
on earth and he is trying to destroy all that he can. Believers fear not
because Satan is a defeated foe and there will always be more believers than
non-believers.
Our scripture text encourages all to "be not conformed
to this world" by having a transformed mind with a renewed spirit to live
holy lives unto God, which pleases Him. A renewed commitment to the Lord leads to a
steadfast faith in God where His protection and deliverance is assured. With a
transformed mind, believers know the Will of God and are committed to doing His
will as this is the highest and best way of life contrary to what the world says.
A renewed commitment to God is a steadfast
servant of God.
