God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
Our scripture texts make a profound statement informing
us just who God is. He is our strength and help. He is our shelter in the time
of a storm because, in this life, we will encounter life’s storms. He is our
protector as well as our sanctuary. Psalm 91:1 states, he that dwelleth in the
secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
This verse of scripture supports our discussion texts by reaffirming that, yes,
God is our refuge. Isn’t it a blessing to know that we have a God, the God of
the universe who created and sustains all of His creations and that He is there
for us when we need Him?
It is a tremendous blessing to know that He is the One true God who answers our prayers. He is the God whose line is always open to His people when we call on Him. He is an on-time God. Praise His holy name.
When we have God, we have all that we need. He is our all-in-all.
