And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
If we were to pose the question, what is the meaning of
the scripture, receiving the fulness of God’s grace? Let us look at verses 1-5,
where the writer, John describes Jesus as the word of God who was present with
God during creation. John also tells us that all things were created by Jesus
Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Jesus is that light that shines in this sin
darken world manifesting the righteousness of God and Himself.
The light that is spoken
of here is the righteousness of Christ, who came to expose the sins of the
world, came to die on the cross for those sins. It is noteworthy to say that
all who accept Jesus as God’s Son and the Savior of the world are assured of
eternal life. God’s Grace!
To fully understand the
true meaning of the term grace, we can then comprehend that it is God who sent
His Son Jesus Christ into the world out of love to redeem all lost souls back
to Himself. This was an act of love and God’s unmerited favor/grace that He
bestowed upon all who believe in Jesus through faith.
Jesus is the final
revelation of God the Father as Jesus came to us (humanity) in human form,
revealing the righteousness of God. The true meaning of GRACE is God’s
Righteousness At Christ’s Expense. All believers’ salvation is free to us; it
costs God His Son and the Son His life on Calvary’s cross.
Grace is God’s gift; all
who want to be saved must accept Jesus Christ to receive God’s gift of
salvation.
