In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
We are approaching
Thanksgiving set aside to give thanks unto the Lord for all of His blessings.
Our scripture text
encourages us to give thanks for everything; this includes the trials and
afflictions we may have encountered this year, and yes, there have been many,
but through it all, we have made it through. Thank God for His love,
grace, and mercy.
We are still suffering
from this pandemic-Covid19, and there appears to be no end in sight. Even
despite the lingering effects of the Covid19, we are always blessed because God
has blessed us with another day, and it is an opportunity to praise His holy
name. It is another opportunity to tell the Lord, I thank You because You
didn’t have to wake me this morning, but You did, and I thank You.
When we look back over
our lives, reflecting on our troubles, we will find that our blessings outweigh
our problems. That is praiseworthy; then we can say like the Psalmist in Psalm
150 God by saying:
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his
sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise
him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound
of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the
timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud
cymbals: praise him upon the high-sounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that hath
breath praise the Lord. Praise
ye the Lord.
