Peace instead of hate

There is too much violence in this world and not enough love. The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth (Psalms 11:5 ).

“Take Your Burdens to the Lord and Leave them There”: Matthew 11:28-30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
This is another in my series of encouraging messages that are designed to provide comfort, encouragement, and trust in God as we continue navigating this Coronavirus. Many are experiencing anxiety, worries, and many are becoming stressed by the everyday news and the devastation that is occurring from this pandemic and other disasters that are occurring in our state and around the world.
Let me say, take these scriptures to heart because the God that we serve is unchanging. His grace and mercy will see us through this crisis. He asks us to give Him our problems, burdens, and all concerns He will take care of them. This virus is no exception; therefore, rest safely in the arms of God as we trust Him for His deliverance (Psalm 91).
Stay safe and well. God loves you so do I.

Christians Walking in Love: Acts 2:42-47

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
What does it mean to walk together in love? We as believers come together in the love of God and for one another to fellowship, break bread together whether it is spiritual and or physical, and in prayer. This is the result of having a vertical relationship with God and one another.
Believers walking together in love the world will know that we are soldiers in God’s army and are ready to battle Satan at every turn. As we walk together in love, we are a three cord that is bound together with God’s love. Love is the tapestry that holds everything and everyone together.
Believers, as we walk together in love, we are emulating the Godhead; God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit who is unified as one and so are we.

God's love

God's unconditional love.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

Love versus Hate: Matthew 5:43-47

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.  But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
As we continue navigating this pandemic and other troublesome times with the rise of hate and other evil deeds, it leaves me to ponder this question, where has love gone or why is there so much hate in this world. I will venture to answer these questions by saying, love conquerors all. Hate is a sin and does what sin does which is to puff itself up. This is to give the false impression that sin and hate are it winning the battle against love and good. Good and love win every time.
There are more acts of kindness than there is of hate. Love is still in the world and is being shown through random acts of kindness. Hate is a sin and the work of Satan who knows he is a defeated foe; therefore, his time is ending. That can be attributed to the appearances of increased acts of hate, but take heart hate will not win.
Just a Christ conquered sin and hate on the cross, we as believers are more than conquerors in this world.
We welcome your comments.

Confidence in the Lord: Psalm 27:1-3

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Today’s message is one encouraging us to have confidence in the Lord because of who He is and His sovereign powers. We fear only God and we be careful of evil men.
If the question was raised, why must we have confidence in the Lord whom we cannot see, but man we do see? We are to have confidence in the Lord because He has proven Himself to be trustworthy and faithful to His promises. We have confidence in the Lord because He is the creator and sustainer of all, which includes all human evil and good men. Evil men are under God’s control and in God’s time He will bring evil men deeds to an end; therefore, trust God and never doubt Him. When God says, I will take care of you, trust Him. Cast all of our cares upon Him, and leave them with Him (Psalm 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7). More importantly, God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Fear only God, and trust Him for your deliverance.

Encouragement

In the midst of this coronavirus; take these words to heart. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved (Psalm 55:22).

A Disciple of Christ: Luke 9:23

And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
What is a Disciple? A disciple is a student, or learner, or a follower of Christ and His teachings. The twelve were called Jesus’ disciples, so is all Christians are called disciples of Christ. This is because all believers have committed him/herself to the teaching and life of Christ.
Being a disciple of Christ is a lifestyle and lifetime commitment to the study of the Bible truths and teaching them to others as well as applying them to our lives daily.
Is there a cost to Discipleship? Yes, there is, because there is a lifestyle change. The change includes a transformation from the heart; denying him or herself of the pleasurable things of life that we use to do especially if they do not align with God’s morals.
Being a disciple of Christ is a blessing in that we are the light of the world shinning bright the glory of God.

Following God: Deuteronomy 28:1-68

And it  shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe [and] to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
There comes a time in one’s life that he/she must follow the voice of the Lord and go where he/she is being led. Also, during these times, many will ask why now, but I say to the questioner, God moves in His own time, and it behooves the hearer to follow God instead of man. It also may be that the hearer lacked the courage to step out on faith and God’s continued encouragement was necessary. This brings to mind Joshua when God’s continued encouragement was necessary and given. The result was Joshua was successful in fulfilling the assigned task.
Let me close by saying, follow God regardless of what man says, and be rewarded with His blessings both going and coming. Scripture records that all who followed God were rewarded with His bountiful blessings.

Hope in God: Psalm 130.5; Psalm 39:7

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope [is] in thee.
I received Psalm 130:5 from my nephew as we share our spiritual cup of coffee each morning, I felt the need to share with others and ask that you please share. The more we share God’s Word it too will spread faster than this coronavirus.
Another point to sharing God’s word is true, uplifting, and soothing because it is nourishment to our souls. Also, God’s Word provides us with hope as we navigate the troubles waters of life. We are experiencing a turbulent storm, but have hope in God as He is true to His promise of being with us and will bring us through any storm.
Thanks for reading, sharing and your comments.

Good Neighbors

Being a good neighbor, we edify one another. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

Thank God

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:20). Sometimes it is good to tell God thank You. We have petitioned Him and He answered; now just thank Him.
