Colossians 3:13
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a
quarrel against any, even as Christ
forgave you, so also do ye.
As
we celebrate the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela; his life reflects forgiveness
as well as his rise to world prominence after enduring such harsh treatment he
forgave his enemies. Nelson Mandela's life depicts our scripture text as it
encourages all to forgive one another as Christ forgave us all.
That
being said, love is at the heart of forgiveness and if the question was raised,
What does love have to do with it? Everything! Love caused God the
Father to give His only begotten Son who forgave sin by giving His life for the
remission of sin and all who believe have eternal life. It is love that saved us and it is love that
sustains us.
Love
conquerors all even forgiveness.
