2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
This
month's devotional deals with living by faith in God as we will discuss topics
that will aid in our understanding of every Christian's walk of faith. Faith is
defined as seeing things as though they were or seeing things through our spiritual
eyes. Simply put, God is a Spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and in truth
(John 4:24). God's Spirit lives in every believer to make real His presence.
With
that being said, one's faith walk is seeing God for who He is and what He has
done in the lives of all mankind. Salvation comes through one's faith in Jesus
Christ as it is predicated upon God's grace which He freely gives. Faith also
includes believing God is the creator and sustainer of the universe who gave
His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for the sins of the
world. Faith also incorporates the belief that Jesus Christ is God's Son, the
second person in the triune God who has no beginning and no ending.
Allow
me to close today's discussion by saying that all believers have a personal
testimony of his or her faith walk with Christ. This is not exclusive to being
saved, but to the trials of life, and being delivered rests solely on one's
faith in God and His power to deliver.
Believe
and walk by faith.
