“Praise Ye the Lord”: Psalm 112:1 KJV
Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
If we pose the question, why must we praise the Lord? We
praise God for who He is and His sovereign powers. We praise God for what He
has done, is doing, and will do in our lives. More importantly, God provides
salvation through our faith in Jesus Christ, who paid man’s sin debt on the
cross at Calvary. Praise Him! Praise Him!!
Given all that God has
done in our lives, it is worthy of our heartfelt praise. It is the Lord God who
wakes us up every morning and rocks us to sleep each night. God keeps us safe
as we slumber and sleep, protecting us from the unseen dangers that surround us
day and night. The evidence of God’s love, care, and protection is worthy of
our praises to Him.
Psalm 68:4-5 KJV
encourages us to praise God by saying, Sing unto God, sing praises to His name:
extol Him that rideth upon the heavens by His name Jah and rejoice before Him. 5 A
father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in His holy
habitation.

Blessings From Following God: Psalm 16:11 KJV
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
What is this verse saying? It is saying there
is joy in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord God Himself will show lost
souls there is joy in His presence. Jesus Christ paved the way for lost souls
to be reconciled to the Father.
This verse describes the
relationship between God and His people. A relationship with God is an
everlasting relationship resulting from an unwavering trust and faith in
God regardless of the circumstance or situation.
This verse also demonstrates
the acknowledgment of the sovereignty of God as He is humanity’s
guide, as He illuminates
our way. Psalm 119:105 supports this fact by saying, thy word is a lamp
unto my feet and a light unto my path. God so loves us that He does not
want His people walking in darkness.
This verse also tells us
of God’s love by stating that He is the source of our joy. There is no joy like
the joy that God provides. It is an unspeakable joy that the world cannot give
nor understand. God’s joy is not material wealth but a deep, complete sense of
knowing that we are in the presence of Almighty God. Lastly, God
promises His eternal pleasures that last forever.
What a blessing it
is to follow God!

Love Your Enemy: Luke 6:35 KJV
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Getting back into my frequent inspirational writings while reflecting on
the sinful conditions of our world, I went to Luke 6: 27-37 KJV, which speaks
to the law of love.
Verse 27 tells us that we are to love our enemies, not with an emotional
love, but with the love of God, which incorporates kindness, compassion, and
peace. We know that love overcame hate
through Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross, so we, as believers in Christ,
are to emulate His love for all humanity.
Another point to loving our enemy does not mean that we as Christians
are to stand idly by and watch and allow evil to bring harm to innocent
people. Still, to the contrary, we are
to confront evil wherever and whenever it occurs. We are to follow Jesus’ model by proclaiming
the truth as truth wins all the time.
Our background verses ask profound questions: what profit is there in
doing good to those who love us? The
gain is in glorifying God by loving those who do not love us. At one point, we all were enemies of God, but
thank God for Jesus and His sin atonement; we, as Christians, now have a loving
relationship with God.
One final point on living our enemy is that we do good without expecting
any good in return from our enemy but look to God for His reward, which is
greater than any reward man can give.
Loving our enemy, we pray, asking God to change their hearts, remove the
hatred, and replace it with love.
Love covers a multitude of sins; this was proven on the cross at
Calvary.

Fervent in Our Spirit: Romans12:11KJV
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
What is Paul saying in this verse?
Let us look at the context in which Paul was speaking and to whom he was
talking.
First, Paul was writing to the Roman Christians to nurture the Roman
believers in love, a life of faith disciplined by obedience and holy living.
Second, in chapter 13, Paul is exalting to love when he states in verse
ten, Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil. He was
telling the Roman Christians to love one another, as should all believers. Paul
encouraged the Roman Christians to serve the Lord God with a zeal of gladness
and a spirit of eagerness.
Third, Paul encouraged Roman believers to consider what the Lord God has
done for them, the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, and that they should have
a willing spirit to serve God by serving others. In other words, Paul said do
not be lazy in our service to God.
More importantly, all Christians should be bubbling with joy, pride, and
a passion to tell others about salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. All
believers are commanded to witness Christ the world over.
Fourth, Paul provided examples of new converts eager to serve the Lord
by serving others. Paul’s encouragement applies to all Christians through all
generations.
Fifth, in our zeal for Christ, all Christians are encouraged to express
gratitude for being the elect of Jesus Christ, as we have been called to a holy
calling like no other calling that we, as Christians, will ever receive.
As an expression of thankfulness for being the elect of God, we are to
(a) study to show ourselves approved by God and (b) be diligent in our call by
walking in holiness as the world is watching.
Let us be enthusiastic in our spirit, which pleases the Lord.

Trust God Always and In Every Situation: Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
Reflecting on our scripture verses that encourage us to trust the
Lord with all our hearts, what is my relationship with God? Is it one that I
have the confidence to trust God regardless of the situation when I cannot see
a way out of my current dilemma?
These questions come to mind, is my relationship with God to the
point that I recall His Red Sea deliverance for the children of Israel, knowing
that He is the same God and what He has done for others, and He will do the
same for me? Just what is our relationship with God?
Trusting God in every situation, we acknowledge that God is
supreme, all-powerful, and worthy to be trusted.

Meditational Scriptures: Matthew 6:31-34 KJV
Join me as we (Shepherd Ministries Baptist Church) begin a daily meditation scripture for the purpose of growing in the knowledge and grace of God.
Today our focus is on Matthew 6:31-34 KJV.
31. Therefore, take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Jesus Christ, Our High Priest: Hebrews 2:14-15 KJV
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
How did Jesus become our High Priest? Our scripture verses tell us that just as we
were of flesh and blood, Jesus became human, made of flesh and blood that was
required by God the Father to pay man's sin-debt. Jesus Christ became flesh and blood but never
relinquished His deity; therefore, He was both human and divine.
Jesus Christ is our High Priest because He
is God in the second person who was present at the beginning with God; all
things that were made were by Him.
Jesus is our High Priest because He was
the only One found worthy to pay man's sin-debt; that He did. Thank You, Jesus, for paying my sin debt.
Jesus became our High Priest being human
and divine, He conquered death, hell, and the grave freeing all believers from
the fear of death through His sacrificial death on the cross at Calvary. We, as believers, have been assuring eternal
life thanks to Jesus Christ, our Propitiator.
All believers can say, Job; I know that my Redeemer lives.
Yes, Jesus is our High Priest, now seated
at the Father's right hand, making intercessions for us.

Freed from Sin Through Jesus Christ: Romans 6:22-23KJV
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Our scripture verses tell us who paid our sin-debt,
giving us eternal life; therefore, let us express heartfelt thanksgiving of
praises, thanking God for giving His only begotten Son who willingly gave His
life for you and me.
God demonstrated His unconditional love for humanity,
and there will never be any act of love that will surpass God’s love.
Therefore, unbelievers, get on board this salvation
train bound for glory; your sin debt has been paid in full, and join God the
Father’s holy nation of priests.

Devotional Message: Being Led by The Spirit of God: Romans 8:12-14KJV
12.......Brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
We as believers are sons of God; therefore, we must
walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit of God.
Walking after the Spirit, we are manifesting the fruit
of the Spirit, such as love, peace, joy, longsuffering, meekness, and charity
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).

Christian Freedom: Galatians 5:1KJV
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Our scripture text encourages all believers to stand fast in the freedom
given to us through the sacrifices of Jesus Christ.
Through Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross at Calvary, our Lord,
and Savior has freed us from the bondage of sin, restoring a broken fellowship
with God the Father.
Staying committed to Christ and His righteousness is our expression of
gratitude, thanking Him for saving our souls from everlasting punishment.
Let freedom ring from the highest mountain to the bottom of the valley.

Reconciled By Christ: Romans 5:10 KJV
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
We thank God for Jesus’
death on the cross at Calvary, reconciling all who believe in Him back to the
Father. Therefore, we are no longer enemies of God but are now children of God,
members of His holy nation of priests.

The Plain Truth of God’s Word: 1 Corinthians 2:1-2 KJV
2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
What Paul is saying here is that when he speaks, it is
not with excellent words, but plain and simple, the truth of God's Word.
The truth of God's word will stand on its own merit;
therefore, make it plain.

Rejoice in the Lord: Romans 12:12 KJV
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Today’s scripture verse encourages us as we navigate life’s
journey. We will face many troubles in
our lives. It is in Christ Jesus that we
have hope, peace, and joy. All who
believe in Jesus Christ can and will rejoice in hope because He has overcome
the world (John 16:33 KJV).
We can pray to God, knowing that He hears and answers prayer. More importantly, we are asked to cast all
our cares upon Him, and He will take care of the problem (1 Peter 5:7). God loves us, His people, so much until He
does not want us burdened with troubles.
That is why He asked us to give Him our problems; then, we must wait
patiently on God’s timing to take care of our adverse situations.
We are encouraged to hope in God as our hope is trusting Him with
assured confidence. God has proven
trustworthy, as there is no failure in God.
In this troubled world, we are to pray constantly, and in doing so, we
are establishing a strong relationship with our God. Then we are to be of good courage, stand firm
in Him, knowing that He is faithful to His word when He says, I will never
leave nor forsake you (His people).
Rejoice in God, for He is in control.

Turn back to God, and receive His blessings. Joel 2:12-13, 28-29 KJV,12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

The Joy of Our Children Walking in Christ: 3 John 1:4 KJV
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
The writer John expresses his joy for the faithfulness of Gaius' walk
in the truth of God and His word. John had received this excellent report of Gaius, and he, John, was overjoyed and was wishing him more prosperity as he continued his walk with Christ.
We feel joy when our children walk faithfully with Christ and His truth.
We are joyful because it speaks to our teaching Christ to our children
throughout their lives, building their spiritual house so that they will have a
solid foundation to rely upon when life's storms come.
Our children can be our spiritual children by blood, as parents want the
best for them.
As our children walk in the truth of God's Word, they teach the younger
children behind them. Walking with Christ is a spiritual growth process that
pleases God and earthly parents.
Parents, let us continue praising and being joyful in our children as
they walk in the truth of God's word manifesting the righteousness of Christ in
their lives for the world to see.'
Children, continue in the way of Christ instead of the world; for God
and your parent delight in you.
