Focus On Eternal Life: 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

The trials and tribulations we are suffering while here on earth pale in comparison to the glory we will receive when we get to heaven. Things in this life are temporary, but the unseen eternal is forever. Revelation 21:4 confirms this statement by stating, And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Standing Firm on Our Faith: Hebrews 10:23-25

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day as approaching.

I write this message as a source of encouragement to my brothers and sisters to stand fast in our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Regardless of our situation, we must hold fast to the profession of our faith. In doing so, we reaffirm our trust and confidence in God and His promises of never to leave nor forsake His own; all believers are children of God.

As we stand fast in our faith, we encourage our brothers and sisters who may lack the same level of confidence as we do. We encourage our fellow men in words, doing good deeds such as if there is a physical need, then meet that need or calling them on the telephone to say hi and or bring a smile to the person. We can always pray for our brothers and sisters as well as provide and share a scripture verse. We also offer encouragement by inviting them to meet me at church to worship and fellowship together.

As we interact with one another, we will further enhance our spiritual growth and our spiritual fruit manifestation, as outlined in Galatians 5:22-23. They are love, kindness, joy, peace, longsuffering, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.

Showing love to one another is one of the hallmarks of the Christian church and our obedience to the commandment of Christ to love one another.

Be willing to forgive and Help One Another: Galatians 6:1-2

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which is spiritual, restore such a (an) one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.  Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Today, it appears that sin has overtaken the world, and there are no good people in the world. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; therefore, we must be willing to forgive and restore our fellow man who has been overtaken by sin (a fault). Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior forgave us of our sins through His atoning death on the cross. What this means is that there was a point in our lives where we were dead to sin with no hope of restoration, but thanks to Jesus’ willingness to bear our sins and give us right standing with our heavenly Father.

We are encouraged to look past our fellowman’s faults and, when he/she has a need, fulfill that need to the best of our abilities. In doing so, we will be fulfilling the Law of Christ.

God, Our Refuge

Psalm 9:9, The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. The Lord God is our refuge; our siding place; therefore, let us cover ourselves in His love, grace, and mercy.

The Lord Is My Shepherd

A Word of Comfort: Psalm 119:76

Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.

The setting for today's message is that King David is experiencing God's punishment for his error in judgment. David's good thing was when he made an error in judgment; he knew to seek the Lord in prayer, asking for forgiveness and God's mercy.

We know God is forgiving, and He loves us unconditionally. That said, God is our comforter whom we can go to in our most trying times and find comfort.

Regardless of the cause of our comfort zone being made uncomfortable, God is our comfort zone and our burden bearer. So, take our uncomfortable situations to the Lord in prayer and leave them there. God hears and answers our prayers.

Assured Return of Christ: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  For this, we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

Jesus’ return is assured; the question is, will you be ready when He comes. No man knows the day or hour when Jesus is to return; therefore, get your house in order- accept Him as your personal Savior and be saved.

This song comes to mind; I want to be ready when Jesus comes. I want to be ready when Jesus comes. One day the Lord will crack the sky (Dottie Peoples).

A Prayer For Deliverance

Psalm 86:17, Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

Psalm 87:1-17 is a prayer for deliverance. We can rejoice in knowing that the Lord our God hears and answers our prayers

The Peace of God Rules

 Today's meditation scripture

2 Corinthians 1:2-4, 2 Grace be to you and peace from God, our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Follow peace with all men.

Confidence in the Lord

Waiting on the Lord with steadfast Confidence: Psalm 27:14; Habakkuk 3:17-19

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:  Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

Today's message is a continuation of yesterday's message that talked about having confidence in the Lord. God further assures us that we can have faith in Him when He uses a parable of the fading away of the fruit from the fig tree and there be no fruit on the vine and that everything will fail except Him and His word.

We can rejoice in knowing that there is no failure in God. Yes, we can sing a song of joyfulness, knowing that our God is our salvation in every situation. Whatever difficulties that we may find ourselves, know that God is walking beside us.

Keep our focus on God instead of the situation; He is always in control, but we must wait on Him and His timing.

Follow Your Heart, God is Faithful

Morning Message

My morning message for today is taken from Romans 8:26-28, Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Whatever we are going through know that God is in control and is working it out for our good and we will be better for the trouble we have just gone through.

Comfort in the Lord

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Be Strong in the Lord: Joshua 1:9-12

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord, thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.  Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,  pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare your victuals; for within three days, ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God gives you to possess it.

In light of the constant turmoil on display daily, my desire to provide encouraging words by saying, be strong in the Lord, and He will see you through.

Take note of what our scripture texts say; God asked Joshua a profound question, Have not I commanded thee? Then God tells Joshua to be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid either be dismayed. These same encouraging words apply to us today. We must remember what God said, I will be with you, neither will I forsake you, and never will I leave you.

We must take God at His word and trust Him, and never doubt Him, for our God is a God who cannot lie. Whatever God says will come to pass. More importantly, God has proven Himself to be trustworthy.

Therefore, we must be strong in the Lord, knowing that God will see us through these tough times because we have a mighty warrior fighting our battles. Our current situation is no different. We can prepare our next meal knowing that God provides all that we need; physical and spiritual.

Salvation Through Jesus Christ: Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other names under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

If there is any doubt about how a person achieves salvation, our scripture text makes it straightforward by stating that salvation comes through Jesus Christ. All must accept Him as God’s only begotten Son who suffered bled, and died on the cross at Calvary atoning man’s sins, and all who believe in Jesus shall be saved.

Jesus Christ met all of God’s the Father’s requirements to be the perfect sacrificial lamb as a sin atonement reconciling all who believe back to the Father. Jesus died for the sins of the world; to receive God’s gift of salvation, one must exercise his/her faith by believing in Jesus Christ.

Believe in Jesus and be saved.

Come to Jesus

Isaiah 55:1Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Come to Jesus: He saves.
