Created For Good Works: Ephesians 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Our scripture text answers the implied question of why are believers created, which is to do good works of our calling. All believers have a calling on his/her life and are to walk worthy of his or her calling.
Believers are called to serve God with our time, talent and tithe as well as serve those who are in need. Believers are to proclaim the gospel to all humanity of every generation and in every nation. Christ promised His return would be after every nation has had the gospel preached to them. There are some nations where the gospel is not being heard and the people are longing for to hear the gospel. That said, there is much work to do in spreading the gospel to those nations and its people so they too can become saved and spend eternity with God; it is God's desire that all be saved.
Are we working the work that God has called us to do? As a church, are we reaching the unchurched? As a church, are we the city that is set upon a hill calling lost souls to come ashore into the sweet sanctuary of God's salvation? As individual believers, are we being the shinning light of Christ for others to see?
As believers we are created in holiness to do good works.

Victory in Jesus: Isaiah 54:17

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

The above scripture assures all believers that we are victorious and there is nothing to fear. The Lord assured us that no weapon formed against us will prosper, because He is Lord and will protect His people.
Believers, we are the righteous of the Lord; therefore, fear not, boldly stand firm on the Word of God in the midst of these trying times. Evil will soon be put down and peace, love and calm will once again be the norm.
Victory in Jesus.

God's Love: John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This scripture is considered the Golden Text of the Bible in that it depicts the heart of God and the depths of His love for humanity. He gave the very best that He had to reconcile man back to Himself.
The question now becomes, why was this necessary? It was necessary because all humanity had sinned and come short of God's glory and there were none found righteous. What God did was pronounced the whole world guilty before Him. God's love would not allow Him to leave man in lost in sin; therefore, He sent His only begotten Son to die for the sins of the world. All who believe in Jesus Christ shall be saved and spend eternity in the presence of God.
There is no greater love than a man who would give his life for another so that the forgiven can and will have everlasting life; God's agape love. God's love is unmatchless.
What we know about God is that His promises are sure and have been and will be kept. God promised a Savior and forty-two generations later Jesus came and redeemed man back to God the Father. Christ took the believer's sins and gave us His righteousness; quite an exchange.
It is in Christ that we as believers live because He lives.

Life In Christ: Proverbs 8:35-36

For whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate Me love death.

Today's text presents a profound but powerful message as it relates to eternal life and death. There is two courses for life one either love God or hate Him by rejecting His Son Jesus Christ and living according to one's own rules. A person's own rules usually include the ways of society which is contrary to those of God.
The question now becomes, which do I choose life or death? To choose life then one demonstrates his love for God where there are blessings and favor. The ultimate blessing for choosing God is eternal life. Also, in choosing life the person becomes adopted sons of God and members of His holy nation of priests. Being part of God's holy nation we as believers look peculiar to the world, but that's okay because we are the apple in God's eyes.
Whereas in choosing death the person has decided that there is no God and I am the highest order of authority and what I feel, think and or say is right with no consequences to be had; wrong on all accounts.
Allow me to close this discussion by saying, choose Christ as there is life in Him with blessings no one else can give. Choosing life in Christ is an expression of gratitude to God for His love, grace and mercy.

Christ's Message to the Church: Revelation 1:1-20

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John.

Today's scripture text is the message Christ sent to the seven churches, which represents the church age as a whole and how they are seen through the eyes of God.  The church is the bride of Christ who is to be holy as He is her husband. It is only fitting that Christ tell His bride what her shortcomings are.
That being said, this question comes to mind, church, are you right with Christ? If not the time for getting your house in order is near for we know not the day or hour of Christ's returns. Christ is coming again for His church. Will He find you as that holy city that is set on a hill shinning bright His righteousness or a building that is filled with worldliness parading as a church?
Given the falling away in many of our churches today, I ask these questions, are we living in Revelation where sin and all manner of wickedness have crept into the church? As the church, are we living in humble submission to the only wise God the head of His established church? As the church, are we wearing God's protective body armour as recorded in Ephesians 6:10-18 as we stand firm on His truth?
Allow me to close with these encouraging words "get right church Christ is coming soon for His bride-the church.
