The Holy Spirit Mortifying The Body

Romans 8:13

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die, but if through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, yet ye shall live.

What is the meaning of this verse? The apostle Paul is reminding believers of his day and for generations to come of the spiritual warfare that rages within our bodies. Believers are in a constant battle between right and wrong; good and evil. Paul used himself as an example of this warfare by stating that the things he should do he doesn't and the things that he does he shouldn't; this is the way it is with all of us.
We make this claim because sin is always present and are competing for control; without the help of the Holy Spirit believers will lose the battle every time. The question now becomes, how do believes win this warfare? Believers win this battle by yielding control of our lives to the indwelling Holy Spirit. This is accomplished by deciding yes I surrender all to God-the Holy Spirit so that I can live holy unto the One who saved me from eternal separation.
It is noteworthy to say, as believers yield control daily to the Holy Spirit believes draw closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In doing so a strong personal relationship is developed between Christ-the vine and the believer-the branch.
Let's close today's discussion by saying; yielding control of our lives to the Holy Spirit believers put to death the misdeeds of the body.
The powerful work of the Holy Spirit convicting sin.

Christians In A Perverse Generation

Philippians 2:15

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.

Today's focus discussion is Christians living in a perverse generation as the world we live in today is marred with all manner of sin and wickedness as it was during the Bible days.
Satan and his followers have set out to deceive Christians if they succumb to his lies and deceitfulness as he is a masterful strategist in his deceptive schemes. The world has a distorted view of morals, standards and beliefs which is contrary to those of God. Many in our society today feel that there is no God and mankind is the highest order of control and what satisfies man the most is right; we know better.
What must Christians do in this perverse generation? II Corinthians 6:17-18 calls for spiritual separation for all believers as we cannot serve two masters. Spiritual separation is necessary to remain loyal and faithful to God so that we might continue in faith, purity and godly love as we continue being lights in a sin darkened world. With our loyalty to God we draw closer to Him through an intimate fellowship, worship, and studying His word and loving service to Him. With that being said, Christians must speak against sin and corruption whenever and wherever it exists.
Christians, we are in a spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:11-18) sin and corruption is our enemy. Fight on!

God Called Servants

Isaiah 49:5-6

And now, saith the Lord that formed me from the womb to be His servant, to bring Jacob again to Him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength. And He said, it is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel; I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Today's focus discussion is Isaiah's prophecy that outlines two important aspects of Christ's earthly mission, which was to (a) bring Israel back to God. This group includes the Jewish converts of the New Testament church, the present age believers and the remnant that will be restored in the last stage. (b) The second aspect of Christ's mission was to bring salvation to all nations (vv. 5-6).
"My salvation unto the end of the earth," solidifies Christ's mission in that it is God's desire that all nations hear the gospel and be saved as the opportunity is there and the choice is theirs. Isaiah's prophecy will not be fulfilled until all nations have heard the Word of God preached as supported in Matthew 24:14 as to when the end comes. Also, Matthew 28:18-20 talks about teaching and preaching the gospel of Christ to all nations.
It is noteworthy to say that before and after Christ's earthly mission God has called special people as His servants to say "what thus saith the Lord" in getting the people to turn to Him and be saved. Ephesians 4:11 describes Christ's five-fold ministerial leadership of the church to continue His mission, but all believers are servants of God in that each has a personal message to share with unbelievers.
Serve God through witnessing.

A Fool And His Fate

Psalm 14:1-7

The fool hath said in his heart; There is no God; they are corrupt, they have done abominable work; there is none that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy, there is none that doeth good, no not one.

This is a historic day in our nation; I say this because the person that is being sworn in as this country's President has the mentality of a fool and dictator type thinking. He has aligned himself with billionaires and the leader of our enemy Russia. Of all the elected Presidents his thinking is the most racially filled with hate, and self adulation not to speak of his lack of knowledge in key areas to say the least.
Listening to his hateful rhetoric, I ask this question as stated in verse 4; have all the worker of iniquity no knowledge? Who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord? He (Trump) has done the following (v 6) "You have shamed the counsel of the poor." The poor is the 66+ million voters who are hurt by his unfair election methods (rigging/hacking); but we have our faith in the Lord, His truth and our resolve to keep fighting for what is right while knowing the truth will come to light. The Lord is our refuge and He will fight our battle.
Let me close by saying Trump is a fool because he feels in his heart that he knows everything and can change the world to his benefit by himself. Everything he does is to promote himself and his agenda. This Psalm describes Trump's depraved condition. I feel in my heart his Presidency is to teach him a lesson as well as there is a message for all America. Ask God to show us the message He have for America.
Lord, teach me Your will and way; lead me in Your path so that I might do Your will and bring this country in love. In Jesus name; Amen.

An Assured Hope

Isaiah 40:31; 41:10; Jeremiah 17:7

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.
Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Blessed [is] the man that trusteth in the LORD and whose hope the LORD is.

If the question was raised, why am I writing about hope? I like many others across these United States feel betrayed, heartbroken, angry and certainly do not trust Trump and his regime to be the President for all America.
Many of us watched his bigotry; lies, hate, and his personal assault on every nationality except White America who is rich like him; so then what to say that he will change now that he is the President; nothing. I say this because a Leopard never changes his spots.
So then what hope do we have? The answer is found in Jesus Christ as stated in our discussion scriptures. It is Him that our hope is assured, because without an unwavering faith and trust in Him we never lose. We are overcomers in Christ, but what we must do is remain strong, committed to our fight for what is right, just and fair for all Americans.
Remember all humanity is created in the image and likeness of God our creator, and we are all linked through His Spirit. We may have lost the war but not the battle; the best is yet to come because the truth will be known as parts are coming forth as we speak.
In closing, allow me to encourage all to stay sprayed up, focus, committed, and to get involved by doing whatever we can to change things.
An assured hope is in the Lord. His truth and justice will reign.

A Daily Walk With God Through Prayer

Nehemiah 1:1-12

And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven. And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love Him and observe His commandments.

In light of the sinful conditions this world is in I felt the need to remind all that we stand tallest on our knees. This is our daily walk with God through prayer as He hears and answer. We know that When God's people pray and or come together in prayer God hears and answer. That being said, we need a spiritual revival because of the sinful conditions facing our world. We are witnessing all manner of wickedness worldwide. The church is being persecuted in foreign countries to the point that many are being murdered for worshiping Christ and many are being imprisoned for the same reason. In this country, it appears as if God's people are being overtaken by sin and there seems to be no stopping it, but be encouraged sin and Satan is a defeated foe.
These conditions bring into focus 2 Chronicles 7:14, which states, if  my people, which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
I am encouraging all to continue in prayer because God hears and answers prayer. Prayer has been and continues to be an integral part of believers lives the world over. Prayers of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16).
Keep praying, keep believing, because God is moving and change is coming.

His Workmanship

Ephesians 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Who is His workmanship? Believers in this scenario are the workmanship because all believers are workers for Christ. Being workers for Christ, believers are to live holy lives before men so that our good works can be seen by Christ who is in heaven. Being the workmanship for Christ mean that we are to continue carrying the gospel message to the world as commissioned by Christ Himself (Matthew 28:19-20) as it is our mission to make other disciples for Christ.
The question now becomes, how do we make disciples? We make other disciples through our lifestyles, through our witness as it is to begin in our homes, communities and then carry the gospel message abroad. Being workers for Christ we are to minister to the sick, feed the hungry, visit the homebound, give comfort where needed because Christ said “what you do to the least of these you do also unto me” (Matthew 25:40).
Christ was the perfect example for doing the will of His Father and we as believers are to do likewise in following Christ’s example of ministry. It is noteworthy to mention that we are not saved by our good works but because of our salvation we do good works. James 2:17, which states “faith if it hath no works is dead.” Does your works exemplify your faith? True faith always manifests itself in obedience to God as it relates to our works.
Our works speak to our faith.

Conviction and Commitment

As we begin the New Year it is with the conviction to live for Christ our Lord and Savior as He is the way, truth and the light to a better and more rewarding life.

Believers being the guiding in this sin darkened world the unsaved will come to know Christ in the parting of their sins and accept Him as Lord and Savior. For the saved, we will commit ourselves to shine brighter the light of Christ for this world to see through our witnessing and proclaiming the good news of salvation.

That being said, writing this month's messages are designed to point all to Christ with an undeterred conviction of sharing the gospel message of Christ. Carrying the gospel message, all readers will have a renewed commitment to tell everybody what Christ has done in his/her life-witnessing Christ.

With this renewed conviction and commitment, the gospel will continue to be proclaimed the world over so that lost souls will hear and come to Christ. Then the new converts will become adopted sons and daughters of God thereby joining His holy nation.

With a renewed conviction and commitment, we can and will do great things for the Lord.

Conviction and commitment equals courage, confidence and promise.
