God's Truth

Psalm 25:5; 91:4; 119:142

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation, on thee do I wait all the day. He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust; His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

Wondering what to write for today's inspirational message, the Lord spoke to me and said "what about My truth?" In today's society it appears as though the truth has become passé and untruths is being readily accepted. Let me remind all that God's truth will last forever as it has and those of us who are wise is still standing on the truth of God's Word. God's truth is the law and if God said it then that settle it for He is righteous, holy, unchangeable, and cannot lie.
Therefore, stand firm on the truth as it is our shield and buckler; meaning it will protect us from all unrighteousness, lies and unwarranted attacks for standing firm on the truth and for what is right.
There is no other truth but God's truth.

Dwell With God

1 John 4:15

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth with him, and He is God.
These questions come to mind, how and where will believers dwell with God? Believers will live with God in that mansion in the sky called heaven and will reign with Christ when He returns to earth to establish His earthly kingdom in the New Jerusalem. Living in the presence of God will last forever, which is the reward of salvation. Salvation is received after hearing the Word and then accepting the call to repent.
Believers live with God by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior who died on the cross at Calvary paying our sin-debt. Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savor is done in faith and saying yes He is God the Father's only begotten Son. Christ's atoning work reconciled sinful man back to holy God as Christ is the door through which man has access to the Father.
It is noteworthy to say; all who dwell with God will have glorified Christ-like bodies as all believers will have been washed in Christ's blood. We have a crown of righteous waiting for us as well as golden slippers. Living in the presence of God there will be no more pain and suffering or tears to shed, because they will have been done away with.
Living in the presence of God will be one glorious event.

Prayer Meeting

Acts 2:42-47

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be served.

I felt urged by the Holy Spirit to revisit a passage of scripture which depicts the importance and power of prayer meetings by focusing the church gathering together in genuine prayer and being on one accord. The result will be church growth church from new members being added to the church, a spirit-filled church with love, peace and harmony among the congregation. As new members come to Christ they too commit themselves to serving God in kingdom building through powerful witness and holy living while serving others.
This also speaks to the power of prayer and what can and will happen when the church comes together in prayer. Reflect on the church praying for Peter's release and Paul and Silas midnight prayer meeting and the results of each. Who can forget when the church remained steadfast in prayer at the coming of the Holy Spirit and the number of souls that were saved as a result?
I can remember those old fashioned prayer meetings when I was a child in the South and the fellowship that existed among the members and the Holy Spirit being in the midst. There were love, peace, care and harmony as all were one accord and with one goal, which was to commune with God.
Prayer meetings are the coming together of God's children to communicate with Him through prayer.

Fishers Of Men

Matthew 4:19

And He said unto them; follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men

The setting for today's topical discussion is during the beginning of Jesus' ministry when He was calling His disciples. The first two of Jesus' disciples were Peter and Andrew, two brothers who were fishermen by trade when Jesus summoned them to follow Him.
These two men immediately left their fishing boats to follow Jesus; which brings to mind these questions, what would you and I had done when Jesus made such a request? Would there have been twenty questions or would we have said yes to Jesus?
Jesus is still calling fishers of men in the form of pastors, evangelist, teachers, deacons, prophets, writers who write as God have given, and then there are the lay people who witness Christ wherever they go. All have a message of salvation to a dying world.
As fishers of men, we as believers are shinning the light of God's glory, His righteousness while wearing His righteous garment of salvation. The church as a whole is a fisherman's ministry as it is the city that is set upon a hill serving as the light directing lost souls to Christ. This world is darkened by sin and need the direction of the church an individual believers saying what thus saith the Lord.
This question come to mind, are we casting our nets far enough into the deep sea of darkness? The world is the sea and is filled with fish-lost souls.

Preparing For God's Harvest

Nehemiah 1:9

But if ye turn unto Me, and keep my commandments, and do to them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.

Today's discussion is taken from this month's devotional which talks about humanity preparing for God's harvest.
What is God's harvest? It is God gathering all humanity before Him for the great separation. All in Christ will be gathered in God's garner-heaven and the unsaved will be cast in the lake of fire for eternal separation from our creator and sustainer.
How do we prepare for God's harvest? First, we accept God's Son Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, and then commit ourselves to walking in the light of Christ. He is the truth and the light. Jesus stated that no man come to the Father unless they come through Him, because He died for the sins of this world, which makes Him the doorway into heaven.
Second, we walk in the ways of God while obeying His commandments as we live in union with our Savior Jesus Christ. We as believers are instruments of righteousness and as a child of God we wear His righteous garment of salvation. Wearing God's garment of salvation we walk in harmony with God. This is accomplished by making our house one of prayer, making intercessory prayers for self and others and making them effective by being honest in our prayers while praying from the heart.
Third, we humble ourselves before a holy God by communicating with Him through daily prayer, Bible reading and meditating on the Word while allowing God's Word direct our footsteps. Having a spirit of humility we have a right view of God, self and others.
Fourth, we witness Christ the world over as we obey the Great Commission given by Christ Himself as He is with us through His Spirit the Holy Spirit. With the abiding Holy Spirit we witness Christ with boldness and power.
Fifth, believers are to remain faithful and unwavering in our faith because during the harvest all will have to give an account of his or her stewardship.
The harvest is coming. God is going to separate the wheat from the tare; therefore, prepare. Wheat or tare?

Salvation Promise

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life:

Today's message is taking a look at the promises God made in return for all who believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
The question now becomes, what are the promises God made? They are: (a) all who believe and accept His Son as Lord and Savior shall not perish. To perish mean that we will die a spiritual death after this earthly life is over; therefore, we will spend eternity separate from God our creator and sustainer. (b) The promise of everlasting life means that all believers will live forever after this earthly life is over. Living an everlasting life is in the presence of God.
These promises are based on all believers accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior and that He is the Son of God who was given as the sin offering paying man's sin-debt. To believe in Jesus is a manifestation of one's conviction that Jesus being God's Son is the Savior for lost humanity. Believing is also the full assurance that Jesus Christ will bring all believers into final stage of salvation and a restored fellowship with God the Father as Jesus is the doorway to the Father. Lastly, our belief in Jesus is surrending all to Jesus while remaining in obedience to Him.
God's promises are guaranteed and they will come to pass; therefore, take God at His Word.
