Members Of One Body

Ephesians 5:30

For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones

Paul is making an analogy of the family and Christ's church where he asks a profound question, has a man ever hated his own flesh (v.29)? Paul answers the question by saying that man loves himself and will not harm himself and further explain that all believers are members of Christ's body, His flesh and bones. That said, all believers are born of the Spirit of God and are compelled to live godly giving reverence to Him for who He is and what He done for us.
Christ being the head of the church; His body so is He the head of our lives. In our earthly family the man is the head. The wife and children are to be submissive unto him in love emulating the godly structure established by God.
As members of Christ's body each has a function just as the earthly family. The human body has only one head and different parts of the body each having their own function to complete the body. This principle applies to the body of Christ.
Believers, it is a blessing to be members of Christ's body-the church who is His bride and one day the marriage will occur between Christ and the church.
Believers, we are of one body with many members.

Unseen Hands

Psalm 91:1-14

He that dewlleth in the secret place of the most High God shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

There is a song titled "Unseen Hands" which has playing over and over in my heart. It parallels the meaning of our lesson text, which says we are protected by the unseen hand of God. What a blessing? It is a blessing because the hand of God is guiding, protecting as we go from day to day.
Sing praises and shout glory to His holy name; the unseen hand of God.

Love With The Love Of God

1 John 4:7

Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

If the question was raised, why must we love with God's love? This is because God is love and loves us all inspite of ourselves. God loved us when we didn't love Him in return. Even in our most rebellious days God still loves us. He is the unseen hand that is guiding, protecting and caring for us as well as providing all our needs. God loved us so much that He gave His best for us-His Son Jesus Christ.
That being said, we as children of God are encouraged to love all just as God does. There maybe times when our fellowman may act unkind to you; love them anyway. Why, because we are God's children who manifests His love at all times.
Let's love all because love conquerors all.

Under Shepherds Of God's House

Jeremiah 3:15

..I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Today's focus discussion is pastors as under shepherds of Christ's church because Christ is the head of the church and calls pastors to lead His church into continued holiness, which includes His righteousness.
Pastors have specific qualifications set by Christ to be eligible to lead His church. The church is Christ's bride who is to be spotless and without sin. Christ is coming back for His bride one day and the only church that will be part of the marriage ceremony is the one who has remained faithful to her husband-Christ.
Pastors are given to lead the church in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). This is so the world will see His glory manifested in the church. The church is the lighthouse that shines the light of Christ guiding lost souls to shore.
As Christ's under shepherds, pastors have the responsibility of making sure their congregation remains in the grace of God as well as safeguarding the truth of His word (Acts 20:28-31) by being vigilant of false doctrine and teachers who will infiltrate the church.
Godly pastors will faithfully feed the congregation God's truth so they will be nourished and flourish as true believers of Christ. This is why God give pastors after His hearth to love protect and provide for His church.

Sing Praises Unto The Lord

Psalm 146: 1-10

Praise ye the Lord; Praise ye the Lord, O my soul. While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

This psalm provides reasons to sing praises unto the Lord our God and why we must trust Him instead of man.
We praise God because He is worthy of all praises, glory and honor. He is the creator and sustainer of all creation. Man was created in the image and likeness of God; therefore, to emulate our God we are to love, care for others, and make wise choices. Why? Because God is love; He is truth and He is just. God provides for all our need according to His riches and glory through His Son Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:19). God has kept all His promises and will continue doing so; therefore, we are encouraged to trust Him completely.
We trust and praise God because He is a very present help in trouble as there is no failure in Him; whereas man have the propensity to fail (v.3). God is no respecter of person. God looks on the heart whereas man sees only the outside and has a tendency to judge by social status. God is the God of all (vv8-9).
We are encouraged to trust and praise the Lord because He will reign forever as He has done from the beginning of time (v. 10). Praise ye the Lord.
