A Chosen Vessel Of Christ

Acts 9:15

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way for he is a chosen vessel unto Me, to bear My name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.

The setting for today's message is Paul's conversion and God sent Ananias to restore Paul's sight. Paul's reputation of persecuting Christians with the blessing of the priest had preceded him. Paul's encounter with Christ changed him from a persecutor to a recruiter for Christ. The Lord was assuring Ananias that Paul was no longer that person persecuting Christians, but now a chosen vessel of Christ who was chosen to carry the gospel to the Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel.
Being a chosen vessel of Christ, Paul and other vessels of Christ do great things in the name of the Lord and for His kingdom. History records the many adversities Paul encountered for proclaiming Christ, but he never waivered in his devotion to Christ and Christ's message.
Believers, we are chosen vessels of Christ who have been commissioned by Christ to proclaim the good news of the gospel the world over. We may encounter difficulties for being a chosen vessel, but Christ through His Spirit is present with us.
Another school of thought on being a chosen vessel of Christ is that all believers were selected and chosen by God from the beginning of time because He knew who would accept His spiritual invitation and then walk in faith doing His will.
As chosen vessels of Christ all believers are lit candles shinning the light of God's glory in a sin darken world.

Memorials

As we celebrate our first official holiday of the year allow me to encourage all to be safe as we travel while enjoying the company of family, friends and our love ones. Let's do so in the spirit of peace, love and joy.
Memorials are days and or times set aside for remembering and reflecting. That said, let us remember who we are and whose we are.  Let us also remember and pay tribute to our servicemen past and present who sacrificed so much for this country.
Peace and love.

When Trouble Come What Do You Do?

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in troubles.

In this life troubles will come; how we handle the conflict is the true test of our courage and faith in the Lord. We know that Satan is very busy and will strike anywhere, anytime and in many different disguises. What we must do is recognize him for who he is and that he uses people to do his dirty work. We must be willing to meet Satan where he stand and tell him "not in my house."
My recommendations are first seek the Lord in prayer and let Him direct your path and He will fight your battles. Second, approach the situation according to scripture. Matthew 18 tells how to solve the problem and Ephesians 5:1-17 defines or describes the problem. This scripture deals with light and darkness and that immoral are not in God's kingdom. When Jesus was tempted by Satan He used scripture to defeat Satan. We must follow Jesus' example while standing firm on our conviction of what's right and wrong.
Psalms 23:4 and 37:1 let us know that God will walk with us through trouble times and we are not to fear evil neither fret because of it, but know right will win all of the time.

Try Jesus

II Corinthians 4:4

To whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Today's message is a clarion cry for all who are struggling with life's unpleasant situations and have tried everything in your power; turn it over to Jesus and let Him fight your battle. The battle isn't your in the first place give it to Jesus. He defeated Satan on the cross at Calvary. Satan knows he is a defeated; therefore, he is trying to deceive, destroy all he can before he is cast into the lake of fire forever.
Let me encourage all who haven't accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior; He died for your sins over two thousand years ago. He is the truth, the light and the way; therefore, trust Him to guide you through life's journey. There will be trouble along the way, because this world is currently being controlled by Satan under God's permissive will due to sin.
We who have made Jesus our Lord and Savior know that He is a lawyer in a court room, a doctor in a sick room; He is a heavy load sharer and a burden barrier. We know victory is our and can shout victory is mine, victory is mine today, I am glad Satan can't harm me because victory is mine.
Try Jesus; He has the winning hand.

A Restored Nation Through A Spiritual Reawakening

2 Chronicles 7:14

If My people which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I have brought several messages using today's scripture because there is a need for the healing of this nation and nations around the world. I am please to announce that my fellow believers the world over have been and continues to pray for a healing of the nations.
There have been several news reports reporting that a vast number of Americans praying for a healing. This healing may have been physical in nature. During Jesus' earthly ministry He healed many physical conditions to meet the spiritual need. This principle applies today. God is still healing whether it is physical or spiritual.
Many prayer warriors who are making intercessory prayers do so often. The practice of praying for healing whether for self or others denote that the prayer and the person being prayed for recognize there is a higher power who knows all, sees all and can do all. His name is Jesus.
Whether praying for a physical or a spiritual healing; God is true to His word. He asks us to pray, change our ways and then He will hear, forgive and heal this land.
It is worth noting that as more people recognize the power of prayer and continue praying for the healing of our nation(s) the result will be A Restored Nation through a Spiritual Reawakening.
A restoration is coming; God is getting our attention through the forces of nature.
We welcome your comments.

Isaac A Type Of Christ

Hebrews 11:17

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac, and he hat had received the promises offered up his only begotten son.

This familiar passage of scripture offers a deep insight into faith using Abraham as our example of total faith when he was ordered to sacrifice his only son Isaac. Abraham believed God with all his heart when He promised to provide and He did.
This takes great faith to offer your only son as a sacrifice; this is what God the Father did in His plan of salvation. He gave His only Son Jesus Christ who gave His life to atone man's sins. Before, Isaac could be slaughtered there was a ram tied in the brush to be offered as the sacrifice instead of Isaac.
Another school of thought is that God tested Abraham to the nth degree asking him to sacrifice his all because God knew He would sacrifice His all-Jesus Christ.
These questions come to mind, do you have Abraham like faith to sacrifice your all? Would there have been some doubt in God providing a sacrificial ram just in time? God is an on-time God who never fails; what He promises will come to pass.
Our faith is tested constantly, are we passing the test? Each time our faith is tested we grow stronger in our faith and trust in God.
