History Being Made

During this year's presidential election we have witnessed history in the making by nominating a woman at the head of the Democratic party or any major party for that matter.
During this week the Democratic Party have presented a litany of speakers speaking to the character of its nominee, her commitment for getting things done, care for all humanity and the inclusivity of all.
Wednesday, July 26, 2016 the nomination was made official by nominating Hillary Clinton as this party's nominee for the office of President of these United States of America. This nomination was solidified Wednesday night with the rounding endorsements made by the heavy hitters of the party and most of all the ringing endorsement made by President Obama when he stated that she is more ready for the position. The baton was passed by our current president in words and displayed is this picture.

Hillary Clinton's acceptance speech where she accepted the baton of becoming our next President; another moment in living history.

The next chapter will be written when Hillary Clinton takes the oat of office as President of these United States.
Let's come together in prayer, unity and love, because love conquerors all.

The Fiery Trials Of Life

1 Peter 1:7; 4:12

..The trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you;

In this life we will suffer many trials and tribulations, but the question now becomes what are their purpose and what must we do in the midst of these trials? The suffering that we as believers experience can be looked upon as faith testers and each time our faith is tested we grow stronger in our faith. As stated in verse 6 we are to rejoice in our suffering as we maintain our faith in Christ through the indwelling Holy Spirit who gives us the necessary strength to endure and persevere through each test. The end result is a tried faith that will have been purified by the fiery trials of life and we can praise God and glorify His holy name. We can rejoice in the fact that God is pleased with us and both will be honored at the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It is noteworthy to say that our perseverance in faith during our times of testing is precious to God. Our perseverance is a demonstration of our love and devotion to Christ our Savior. Our perseverance will be rewarded with the spirit of glory and blessed by God Himself.
No trial no testimony of God's deliverance.

Love And Peace

I John 4:7; I Thessalonians 5:13

Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. And be at peace among yourselves.

The motivating factor for today's discussion is the constant upheaval that is confronting us daily. This is a clarion cry for all of us to try and find a common ground so that we may live in peace in our respective communities.

What I find most disturbing is the constant hatred and untrue statements that is being hurled about without any regard for the truth or the person's feelings. I ask where is the love? If a poll was taken many would say they are Christians. Hatred is not Christian behavior and is not of God.

As stated in our scripture text all who love is born of God; therefore, let us love as God is love and peace will reign among us.

Join me in praying for more love and peace in our nation and the world. Love overrides hate.

Be A Living Testimony

Psalm 25:10

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truths unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

The best way for me to describe a living testimony is giving my personal testimony by saying during the 1990's when I suffered three heart attacks and I felt that I would have to leave my sick son who had suffered a serious car accident nor would I live to get to the age I am today. The doctors told me that my son would always be a burden on me. I went to God in prayer asking Him to seal my son so that when I died he would be able to care for himself and let me live to see my grandson finish college and become successful in his chosen career. My son is well living on his own and gainfully employed; my grandson is a third year college student on a basketball scholarship. Today I can shout because I have lived to become a senior and give all praises to God as I thank Him for answered prayers.
I promised God I would continue dedicating my life to Him and He have blessed me with a writing and teaching ministry that is spreading to parts of the world I may never visit. Just look at God! He is the healer and a prayer answering God.
All believers like me have a personal testimony of the goodness of the Lord. Share your testimony so others can believe.
Share your testimony of what God has done in your life.

A World Gone Wrong

Romans 3:9

What then? Are we better than they? No, in no wise; for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles that they (we) are all under sin.

While praying for peace and comfort for all those affected by the wave of violence that took center stage over the past few days I pondered what to write for today's message; the Holy Spirit gave me the above topic which is this quarter's Sunday school topic.
We all are affected one way or another by the constant stream of violence that is being played out before our eyes. This is not of God. I say this because we all are linked together through God's Spirit the Holy Spirit. He breathed the breath of life into each of us and we became a living soul. One is no better than the other regardless of our race, nationality, creed, color and gender. All humanity is God's creation and He created us equally.
These questions come to mind, who are we to take another person's life? Who are we to say that one person is better than someone else? Who made anyone judge, jury and executioner of another? God is the only righteous judge and He will judge the world of its sins just as He did before sending His Son Jesus to atone the world of its sins. Today's sin and sinful acts will not escape God's judgment.
That said, what this world needs is more love. We are commanded to love one another and to treat one another as thyself. Keep in mind, God loves us all and we are to emulate God's love by loving everyone. I could ask, how did we loose that loving feeling? Is it because in today's society we are more focused on status and or nationality of a person rather than the person himself? Whatever the reason remember, we all are created equal in the eyes of God and will be judged accordingly.
Let me close by encouraging all to live and let live; give love and receive love; we are all one in Christ.

"Praise Ye The Lord"

Psalm 150:1-6

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His excellent greatness.

Today's lesson details the many reasons why we are to praise the Lord; He is worthy of all praises, glory and honor. He is the God of all creations. He is the giver and sustainer of life physical and spiritual. Therefore, praise Him! Praise Him! Praise His holy name.

We are encouraged to praise the Lord in the midst of trials and tribulations; He is our deliverer, our high tower, our refuge, and the Lord of our salvation (Psalm 18:2). His mercy every present and will see us through any difficulties we may encounter.

That said let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

When Christians Get Together

Acts 2:42

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

From our lesson topic there is an implied question, what happens when Christians come together there are teaching, preaching, praying and fellowship. The Holy Spirit is in the midst and the joy that fills the room is unmeasurable. God the Holy Spirit is true to His word when He said where two or three are gathered together in My name I will be in the midst and He is. This is what I felt this past week at the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education. The presence of the Holy Spirit was felt by all that was demonstrated by the attendees' reactions of showing love, shouting for joy, praising God for His goodness and fellowshipping with one another.

This past week further demonstrated that the sovereign God of all creations is the unseen hands guiding, protecting and caring for His people and when we come together what a powerful force to be reckoned with. This is because the sovereign God is bigger than the god of this world.

When Christians come together the power of God the Holy Spirit is present moving in a mighty way.
