Heaven Our Final Destination

II Timothy 4:18

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom; to whom be glory for ever and ever.

Heaven is a prepared place that God prepared for His people from the foundation of the world. That being said, heaven is all believers home where our true citizenship is; even though while here on earth we are citizens of earth on our way to heaven. Believers can take comfort in knowing that we have a home not made by hand and cannot be destroyed by any evil methods of Satan.
In our heavenly home there will be nothing but joy, love, heavenly praises and worship and all believers will participate in the marriage ceremony to the Lamb of God Jesus Christ.
In our heavenly home all believers will be transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. There will be no more pain and suffering, no more body decay as we will be dressed in immortality. In our heavenly home, believers will bask in God's glory that lasts for ever and ever. What a joyous time that will be to bask in the glory of God?
Believers, we have a future hope of glory in the presence of the Lord and this hope is assured by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What an assurance?
While on our faith journey heaven is in view.

Prepare For The Harvest

Jeremiah 8:20

The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

The focus of today's topical discussion is on the harvest of all souls whether saved or unsaved. That said, all who are not saved will be gathered and cast in the lake of fire.
If these questions were raised, who will gather all souls? How can we prepare for the harvest? Jesus Christ will be the one gathering all souls whether saved or unsaved wheat or tare. Jesus Christ is the righteous judge who will judge every nation. When He came the first time was as servant, but His second coming will be as the righteous judge and rightly so because of His atoning work on Calvary's cross paying man's sin-debt reconciling man back to God the Father. It is noteworthy to say that God has a set time for the harvest; therefore, it behooves every man to prepare for the wheat harvest which is made up of all believers where we will spend eternity with Him.
We prepare for the harvest by first accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior who died for your and my sins, and then we must commit ourselves to walk in the His light of Christ because He is the truth and the light. He is the doorway to our heavenly Father.
Second, believers are to be instruments of righteousness because as a child of God we wear His righteous garment of salvation. Wearing God's garment of salvation we walk in harmony with God. This is accomplished by making our house one of prayer, making intercessory prayers for self and others and making them effective by being honest in our prayers while praying from the heart.
Third, believers are to remain faithful and unwavering in our faith because during in the harvest all will have to give an account of his or her stewardship.
The harvest is coming. God is going to separate the wheat from the tare; therefore, prepare.

Working And Standing Firm For Christ

Matthew 20:1; Acts 1:8

For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard;

I write this morning's message is with a heavy heart because of the grim news I receive from around the world of how our Christian brothers and sisters are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. Many are loosing their lives for believing in Christ and they have decided that to die in Christ is their gain. Christianity is under attack in this country in many ways, for example, the Ten Commandments being removed from public places such as some of our court houses and they are the basic from which our laws are founded upon. Repercussions are being suffered when one stand on his or her Christian faith in this country when man's law opposes God's law. Reflect with me when the faith community stood by and allowed one woman to take prayer out of our schools. This same trend is being followed in many of the immoral acts that are being enacted upon us. The question becomes, what must Christians do? For me it is to stand firm on my faith and denounce sin in whatever form it appears. God has equipped us for this warfare that we are in because He knew that we would encounter all manner of immorality (Ephesians 6:10-18). God has given us power to boldly witness Christ (Acts 1:8) and stand firm on His Word His promises to be with us and He will fight our battles. He is the supreme ruler and everyone will have to give in account for his or her actions.
If the question was raised, how are we working for Christ and how can we stand firm for Him? We are working for Christ each time we witness Christ, make intercessory prayer, and give a helping hand when and wherever needed. We stand firm on our faith in spite of difficult situations and or circumstances. The God in us is much bigger than the god of this world.
Let me close by encouraging all to continue working in Christ's vineyard as many are working and many more are needed, because in God's own time He is going to restore and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14) and from the many cataclysmic events occurring that will not be long.

A House Of Prayer

Isaiah 56:7

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offering and their sacrifice shall be accepted upon mine altar for mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.

Why God's house is called a house of prayer? It is because prayer is the believer's communication with God and He cherishes an intimate fellowship with His people. In God's house there is joy, praise, worship and fellowship with God.
A fervent prayer warrior is in constant communication with God whether praising God, thanking Him, petitioning Him for help and or making intercession to God for someone else. Prayer warriors have strong faith in his/her prayers as the prayer prays from the heart as God looks at the heart and knows the truth.
We as individual believers are encouraged to make our personal house one of prayer as it is often said that a family that prays together stays together. This is true of church in our respective communities.
This reminds me of a Biblical saying where one of the Old Testament saints declared to the world that he and his house were going to serve the Lord. This includes making his house one of prayer.
Making your house one of prayer, Satan cannot penetrate because there is a strong bond between the prayer and God. It is noteworthy to say that all God's children are engage in a spiritual warfare and prayer is part of the conflict as our faith/Christianity is under attack from every direction trying to get believers everywhere to bow down to their god and false ideology.
That said, believers we stand tall and strong from our knees; therefore, pray on because a praying house is one where the Lord resides.

Payday Is Coming

Psalm 58:11

....A man shall say; verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily He is a God that judgeth in the earth.

The setting for today's topical discussion is King David writing about the wicked conditions during his day and reminding the righteous that God has a reward for them laid up in heaven not to worry but hold fast to their faith.
Our scripture text makes a profound statement; when we are burden down with the troubles of this world and it appears as though Satan and sin is winning the war between good and evil fear not because our hope is in Jesus Christ who defeated Satan at the cross.
God may be longsuffering but He will punish sin in His own time. What the righteous must do is hold onto God's unchanging hand while staying focus on the prize, which is our crown of righteous and spending eternity with Him. The righteous must also hold onto the fact that God keeps His promises; He promised to punish sin and He does. He promised a Savior, Jesus came and took the sins of this world on His shoulders. The righteous have accepted Jesus' atoning work while the wicked have not and continue to reject Jesus.
Have heart believers, our payday is coming; God will restore His perfect peace and will banish sin from the earth. The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance of the Lord (v.10).

Believers, We Are Sons Of God

1 John 3:1-2

Beloved, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God; therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

The Apostle John says it best when he asks an implied question of how wonderful it is for our heavenly Father who loved us to the point that He has bestowed sonship upon all who believe. Therefore, as an expression of gratitude for God the Father loving us and calling us His sons is worthy of our walk with Him through humbly submitting ourselves to Him, obeying His laws and commands as we are led by His Spirit the Holy Spirit.
Being sons of God we look peculiar to the world and will be rejected by the world because it rejected our Savior Christ Jesus who came to earth to die on the cross atoning the sins of the world. We are encouraged to walk with Christ because He has a crown of righteous laid up for us and one day all who believe will have glorified bodies like Christ our Savior.
Believers, walk on with God as we wear His righteous robe of salvation.

Magnify The Lord

Philippians 1:20

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

The Apostle Paul is making a profound statement as it relates to magnifying the Lord in death or life. Christ is worthy of all glory, honor and worship. We as believers are to magnify the Lord in our walk and speech. This let the world know that yes I am a child of God and I live for Him daily.
If the question was raise, how do we magnify the Lord in our lifestyle? This is accomplished by holy living, being the salt of the earth through our witnessing Christ the world over. We magnify the Lord by mentoring younger Christians in the ways of the Lord. This is achieved by having a seasoned speech, having and sharing unconditional love with and for the mentee.
Our lifestyles speaks volume as to who we are and to whom we belong as our lives may be the only Bible others are reading; therefore, manifesting Christ in our lives speak volume.
How do we magnify the Lord in death? Paul said it best in verse 21, because if this earthly life has been one that manifested Christ and when it is over then the person is present with the Lord. This means that you have made your election sure by standing firm on your faith in Jesus Christ.
Magnifying the Lord daily shows Christian growth.
