The Spiritual House Of God

1 Peter 2:5

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Our scripture text answers the implied question of who are the lively stones of God's spiritual house, which are all believers. Jesus Christ is the head corner stone of His spiritual house-the church and believers are the lively stones that make up the church. This is the organism component or invisible part of Christ's church.
Believers are priests in that we have been sanctified by Christ through His shed blood that we can offer sacrifices of praise unto Him as well as have direct access to God the Father. This was made possible through Christ's atoning works on Calvary's cross.
Being members of Christ's spiritual house, we as believers who are now inducted into the priesthood we are to live holy lives before God while manifesting the holiness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Being a royal priest in Christ's spiritual house we as believers are to offer intercessory prayers for others as well as self and one another. We are to proclaim the Word of God to all lost souls the world over. More importantly, as priests in Christ's spiritual house we are to serve Him with our whole hearts and be willing to provide physical service when needed to whomever is in need. In serving Christ we are to present our bodies as instruments of righteousness because our righteousness is in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Believers, we are the lively stones in Christ's spiritual house and will be with Him when He returns to reign forever.

The Lord My Deliverer

Psalm 18:1-6

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

In this life we will encounter obstacles and it appears as there is no way out. This is because the giants of life keep coming. We have the assurance that all who calls on the name of the Lord He is faithful to answer because He is our deliverer. He is our giant slayer.
Reflect with me on David and Goliath when David step forth to meet the giant Goliath with a sling shot and three rocks, one for the Father, one for the Son and one for the Holy Spirit. David went forth in the name of the Lord; the rest is history. The message for you and I today is when facing our giants do so in the name of the Lord because victory is ours. Verse 2 tells us why for He is trustworthy and worthy to be praise. The Lord's trustworthiness is verified in verse 6, which states, "In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even into His ears.
In distress, call upon the Lord He is faithful to deliver. Praise Him always for He is worthy.

A Crown Of Righteousness

2 Timothy 4:8

..There is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Wearing a crown of righteousness is Christ's reward for all believers being faithful unto the Him and His holiness while spreading the gospel message. Wearing a crown of righteousness, believers will be dressed in golden slippers, white robes and will have glorified bodies like Christ. Believers' heavenly wardrobe represents the holiness of our heavenly Father.
Believers have an intense longing for the return of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior who redeems all believers from sin and shame to a life of righteousness. Being redeemed by Jesus all believers will spend eternity with Him in the New Jerusalem.
Being redeemed by Christ is an expression of His love for humanity and our faithfulness to Him is our expression of thankfulness for what He has done and continues to do in the lives of believers.
These questions come to mind, witnessing Christ to others, do we tell the person of the reward that Christ has reserved for being part of His holy nation of people. Do we tell the person of Christ's sweet savor of salvation and the many blessings from being saved?
All believers have a crown of righteousness just waiting for us.

Confidence In The Lord

Psalm 27:1-6, 14

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked; even mine enemies and my foes, come upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

In an earlier writing was encouraging all to Let Go and Let God; today's focus is answering the question of why we must let go and let God, because it is an expression of our confidence in the Lord. He is our all in all and there is no failure in Him. Whatever situation we may find ourselves, the Lord is there to deliver.
The Psalmist provides the unwavering reasons why we must have confidence in the Lord as He is our salvation, strength, and light; then why fear Satan and his army of evil doers when there is nothing to fear. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ conquered all on the Calvary's cross.
We are to have a fear of reverence for the Lord, which gives us the strength and courage to wait on Him and He shall strengthen our (thine) heart; wait, I say on the Lord (v.14). Have confidence in the Lord; He provides all we need; wait on Him.

Let Go And Let God

1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 46:10

Casting all your cares upon Him; for He careth for you. Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted in the earth.

There are times in this life we will be challenged with trials and tribulations so much so that we can and will often time become overwhelmed. When these times come we must reflect on scripture and know that God is in control. We must also give the situation over to Him by adhering to our scripture verses. God asks us to leave our problems with Him because He is willing and able to handle every situation we find ourselves in.
I write this because I like so many others encounter difficulties, but thanks be to God He has someone or something to remind you and me that I am still God. I was wrestling with a situation several days ago when my son told me these words, "let go and let God." This was encouragement for me and now I am passing it on, just let go and let God.
Let go and let God; He knows the end from the beginning and nothing takes Him by surprise.

Abiding In God's Sanctuary

Psalm 26:8-12

Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth; Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men; In whose hands are mischief, and their hand is full of bribes. But for me, I will walk in mine integrity, redeem me, and be merciful unto me. My foot standeth in an even place; in the congregations will I bless the Lord.

The Psalmist is expressing his joy for dwelling in the house of the Lord instead of with sinful men. Our scriptures texts also show the heartfelt gratitude the Psalmist had to the Lord for His mighty acts of kindness, which includes salvation.
The Psalmist expressed great joy, praise and worship in the house of the Lord whereas worldliness breeds greed and grief which he wanted no part.
Abiding in the sanctuary of the Lord, believers are in the presence of the Lord and He desires to be in fellowship with His people. Abiding in God's sanctuary while here on earth is a prelude to the joy all believers will experience when we all get together in heaven.
It is noteworthy to say that abiding in God's sanctuary His power is manifested just as it did on the Day of Pentecost and other magnificent manifestations when His people come together in prayer and worship.
God's sanctuary is the place to be.

Confirm To The Will Of God

Romans 12:2

..Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable and perfect will of God.

In our Christian growth believers will manifest Christian maturity and growth as we continue doing the will of God by first having a transformed mind, which is achieved by failing to yield to the will of this world and it corrupt systems.
The question now becomes, why and how believers have transformed minds? This is accomplished by submitting to Christ as Lord and Savior and seeing the world through the eyes of God instead of the world/Satan. This present world is under Satan's control and all manner of sin and wickedness is on display trying to entice believers his way is better. Believers know that Satan and this world leads to destruction and eternal separation from God.
Believers must have transformed minds as we are a called nation, and this calls for being separated from this world and its values as they are contrary from the values of God. Believers remain in this world but are not of this world. This is because believers have a permanent home not made by human hands. Believers are to shine the light of Christ and His righteousness in this sin darkened world. Believers must have transformed minds because Christ paid our sin-debt on the cross at Calvary. Believers have a transformed mind by yielding control to God the Holy Spirit and studying His Word
Having a transformed mind allows believers to do the will of God, which is good and perfect.

Follow God's Teaching

Today's message is taken from August devotional that is published on Amazon, CreatSpace and Kindle.

Follow God's Teaching
Psalm 27:11

Teach me thy way O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mines enemies.

In an earlier writing we discussed God being the light of one's life because His Word serves as a lamp unto our feet and a light to our pathways (Psalm 119:105). This is to prevent the traveler-believer from becoming loss along the way neither stumbles as we travel.
Knowing the purpose of God's Word then we are encouraged to follow His teachings through His Word-the scriptures. We follow God's teaching because it leads to righteous living as all believers are to be holy and righteous like our heavenly Father. Christ our Savior took all our unrighteousness upon His shoulders at the cross and all believers rose with Christ to a life of righteousness, which tells the world that yes I am a child of God who have committed one self to obeying and abiding by His laws and statues.
Believers, we are the righteousness of Christ because of His atoning work on Calvary; therefore, we have a right standing with God the Father. Our sins have been forgiven and we as believers have been set apart from this world and it immoral values and system. Believers, we have committed ourselves to God's standards and statues.
Follow God's teaching bring this song to mind, let Jesus lead you all the way from earth to heaven. The song underscores the fact that Christ is the only one who knows the exact route to heaven; therefore, following the Lord's teaching shows wisdom.
Follow Jesus He is the truth and the light.
