Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give
you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and my
burden is light.
This
is Jesus' invitation for all those who are burden down with the troubles of
life and by the human nature of our own lives. By accepting Jesus' invitation,
the person is assured of being given rest from his or her burdens and will find
peace as well as guidance from the Holy Spirit who will lead the person through
life as He calms the troubled waters of one's soul.
It
is noteworthy to say that by accepting Jesus' invitation, the person is
committing to obeying Jesus and His direction as well as becoming a servant of
God. In doing so the person make God the head of his or her life then life's
troubles become of little to no worry because the indwelling Holy Spirit is
there to lighten the load.
Believers
are encouraged to cast all their cares upon the Lord for He is willing to take
care of them (1 Peter 5:7). Take God at
His Word. He never fails.
Put
on the yoke of salvation and let Jesus' Spirit the Holy Spirit carry the load.
